No one ever said that we actually evolved from apes. If we had, then the modern apes would no longer exist. Evolution says that humans evolved from an ape like species, which means that the creature we evolved from looked a lot like an ape, but was a special species all by itself. When humans evolved, this species was replaced. Modern apes have evolved from what they were 20,000 years ago. All species are still evolving, too. Modern humans are significantly taller on average than humans from as little as 100 years ago.

Humans did not evolve from Apes and this has NEVER been claimed to be the case. Humans and Apes have a common ancestry - we are part of the same tree but different offshoots of different branches. This is a common problem with those who renounce evolution in favour of creationism, the siimple fact that oh-so surprisingly (given they believe in creationism) they don't actually have a clue what they're talking about!

Genetic abnormalities occurred in predecessors way back, and become reproduced in off-spring. A certain abnormality will have resulted in the essential difference between apes and humans: who knows what though - brain size; tool making abilities; perception of future events: the chances are, though, that intitally this would have been a barely perceptible difference, but allowed future generations to benefit genetically. Whatever it was, this abnormality will have produced some kind of advantage, and this in turn will have been strengthened, probably by a certain level of inter-breeding amongst a primitive elite.

Of course, other abnormalities will have occurred (they always do) so other genetic paths will have been followed: apes have evolved, but just down a different path.

In my view, and the view of the scientific community, we [humans] evolved from apes, but not from any of the living species as we know them today.

Both humans (Homo sapiens) and living species of apes (like chimps) shared a common ancestral species. It is likely that some populations adapted to one lifestyle (like living in the west african forests, eating fruit like bananas....[ok perhaps not bananas]). Another population moved into the savannah, and eating roots and the meat. Eventually that savannah population was genetically isolated from the population(s) in the forest, and neither recognised each other as the same creatures. I.e they were two different species. Evidence suggests earlier divisions of ape populations gave rise to the ancestors of gorillas, etc.

Apes have evolved. Each ape species has evolved, even those which are now extinct (until the last individuals). The skulls of modern chimps are different to the fossil skulls scientists have from 'chimp-like apes'. Problem is, bones do not fossilise well in damp habitats like forests, so there are few 'chimp-like' fossils, but they do exist. They are not the same as modern chimps.

All apes, like chimps, gorilla, and humans HAVE evolved, ARE evolving, and WILL evolve, until a meteorite wipes us all out, or God smites us down for blasphemy.

Evolution is a continuing process, often called adaption on a short term scale. Examples might be that certain types of butterflies have lighter wings than previous generations, or that some types of dogs have shorter legs...

Modification in form between ancestors and descendants, is evolution. In animals, evolution can be influenced by natural or sexual mechanisms, or even human imposed. Think how dogs are differnt to wolves. Did noah really put every breed of dog onto his ark? What about the multiple strains of roses that selective breeders present new every year in flower shows? Were these forms all on his ark or have humans artifically selected for modification in decendants of these organisms. Has change occured by selection? If yes = evolution.

Did noah really have a pet poodle??

Apes have evolved. Humans have evolved. All life continuously evolves. Except God. He remains the same as 'he' was in the minds of human generations before us. Or has human perception of what is God evolved too??

Please people...those who are supporting evoilution, humans are Homo sapiens, not Homosapiens. Use two words, first word is the genus name, it is capitalised. Know yourselves at least.

Are group of apes started to eat meat, unlike other apes. over many many generations are brain capacity increased because of the intake of high protein. eventually we evolved into Humans. Moral of the story!.....Bananas are bad for you! A double cheese burger is evolutionarily good for you

apes HAVE evolved, just differently. Though, I'm seriously thinking that humans are starting to devolve and the apes will soon be smarter than many people, yourself included. Why not read a few books on evolution, and geology, and archeology. you might find them enjoyable.
