Well, hopefully the majority of the people "everywhere" don't just look at each American as arrogant, or any other way. It is unfortunate that our current President displays that tendency, however, people around the world for the most part are not stupid, and will be able to pick out an arrogant American from one who is not.

People will always stereotype - SOME people. But no one can expect to be loved, nor should the expect to be hated wherever they go. Again, Mr. Bush has repeatedly sent messages to the world that he believes he is better. That should not reflect badly on the rest of us, however people being the creatures they are, often finding that it is easier to go along with the crowd than to stand firm in their own opinion, you may find that you are pre-judged in some places.

Then again, perhaps you really are arrogant, therefore, you are seen as you are.

My two cents.

Because they are! They think they are the mightiest nation on earth and maybe they are, but some modesty would be good! Furthermore they should keep there noses out of other countries business and also stop whining when they talk! They had more to say about racism than any other country, but in America racism is even worse than anywhere else. And just for the record - I am a white South African

Your governments international policies are arguably the worst of any so called democracy. The US has the most power of any nation, and weilds it`s very big stick in the most reckless possible manner. The American public has consistently voted into office governments, who in their single minded drive to secure for the US, the natural resources of other countries, have resorted to threats of sanctions, war, intimidation and other underhanded methods to achieve this end. The American public should choose it`s next leaders more carefully. Then perhaps the world`s view would change. Your government acts in your name. The families of innocent people murdered by your leaders blame you because you elected them. your Ignorance is the problem, not your arrogance. Vote for a human being next time.

Perhaps because the US constantly takes an arrogant stance wherever it goes? Unfortunately, far too many people confuse the position of the administration with the feelings of the individual.

Of course since we do have a republic I guess we as individuals cannot really be absolved of responsiblity of our government's actions.

I AM SOUTH AFRICAN - Asian - Never met an American personally, but if I do, it would be a pleasure just as good as meeting a British, Austrailian, Chinese, Brizilian, Sri lankan etc. of any race or religion.

I know many Americans are brainwashed about people like me (muslim) . Some attitude towards muslims may stem from that. But we cant generalize.

Everywhere? You sure?

I traveled in Canada and Mexico recently just fine.

Perhaps you have some personal gain in this horrible assumption. This world of yours sounds pretty daunting for Americans.

Our government has been covertly and overtly meeddling in other countries internal affairs for a long time, and many American tourists have a superior attitude, and irritate the locals, I have seen it.
