Due to a couple of helicopter crashes, I have seven compressed vertebrae. I lost an inch in height and have to be carefull about lifting things, so I change heel heights on my shoes every two or three days. The streaching action caused by going higher actually provides my back, that extra stimulation to adopt rather than become atrophied. I also watch what I eat so I don't carry a lot of stomach weight. Nobody believes me, but it works. Try it since you have tried all the things that don't work. I usually go from flat to one inch, to two inch and even have a pair of cowboy boots that are 2 and a half inches which I will wear for a night of dancing which is never longer than three or four hours, then back down again. I am 59 now, my accidents happened when I was 20, and I live pain free.
