There's no way to reduce fat from one specific area of the body (without surgery). This means all the sit-ups in the world won't help your love handles. The only way to get rid of them is through:

(a) diet.
Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and try to cut out fried foods and junk food. Don't skip meals or try to cut out fat altogether. This will only slow down your metabolism. You should eat every four hours to keep your metabolism high. Make sure you eat three solid meals a day- just make those meals healthy. For snacks between meals - try fruits, nuts, yoghurt, etc. Read the labels on the foods you eat.

(b) Exercise
Any cardiovascular exercise that keeps your heart rate up will help you lose weight: skipping, running, aerobics, kickboxing, etc. Make sure you do this at least three times a week; 30 minutes.

You should also do resistance exercises: lunges and squats for the lower body, push-ups for the upper body. These will build muscle - muscle burns calories even when you're not active, so your metabolic rate will be higher than someone who doesn't do resistance exercises. Again, at least 3 times a week.

(c)
Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep every day. If your body is tired, your metabolism slows down and you'll have more cravings to compensate for your low energy level, leading to weight gain.

(d)
Remember, you're a kid. Don't overdo it and don't stress about it. Have fun and remember that being healthy does not necessarily mean being thin. Being healthy is your objective.

You were right! It is kinda stupid. Haha!
You should join a local gym to work out the love handle problem. Someone there will be able to guide you through it all!

That's if you really want to "LOSE" weight!
