You call the mass genocide of over a thousand people a victory?? Idiot. It is because of people like you that we are such a nation of ignorance. There were many people that were not too sure about supporting the freedom fighting Hezbollah (soldiers of God), but now that they see what they are up against (Israeli terrorist nation) I guarantee Israel has won nothing except hatred and millions of people who want to fight against them.

If that was a victory I would hate to see what the outcome of an attack against Iran would accomplish. Bush said that victory thing, right? Wasn't our attack of Iraq also a victory? You all have a strange sense of vocabulary.
Oh, BTW, if this victory against a decidedly inferior army without tanks or planes or ships of any form took over a month and the beaten army is partying in the streets of Beruit at this moment, how long will it take to achieve a victory against a country with a larger standing army then the US and Israel combined who has ships, tanks, and planes and a thousand times the rockets that Hibollah had and will the Iranians party in the streets after this US/Israeli victory?
And what of the US troops in Iraq who are surrounded by Shia whom are allied with the Shia of Iran and of Syria? All our troops are within rocket range of Iran.
I know this was a provocateur question, but I have answered it anyway.

What victory?!
Irael couldn't disarm Hizbullah
Israel couldn't eliminate Hizbullah
Israel couldn't destroy Hizbullah's rockets
Israel couldn't stop internal Lebanese support for Hizbullah but it inversly increased it over the whole Islamic world
Israel couldn't make any military victory and couldn't achieve any military objectives beside the great military loss in soldiers and tanks!
may be the only Israeli achievement was killing 1200 civilians most of them were children, destroying Lebanes civilian infrastructures "bridges, schools ,hospitals and electricty and water supplies"
And for attaking Iran I think that the US can't open a third war in less than 10 years after Iraq and Afghanistan beside that Iran is stronger than the formers and well prepared to any invasin not like the others.
If the US do this step it may be the beginning of the shrink of the American empire.

Was this a huge victory for Israel? That is debatable. I don't think either side won.
One guy on CNN ( I think it was ) asked the question whether Israel should have avoided Lebanon and attacked Iran instead. I thought that was an interesting question.

Any proper analysis indicates that it was not a victory. I suggest you re-look at your sources. Proper analysis, based on well collected data (intelligence) is a must if you are going to solve problems. The great looser in this last offensive in Southern Lebanon was the United States. Unless something changes drastically, there may be no other alternative but to drop Israel from the priority list.

Syria is a much greater imminent and local threat. Certainly Iran is the puppetmaster of the Syrian regime, but Israel will face too much political backlash from non-Islamic nations that value Iran's fossil fuels more than Israels existence. (China, Russia, the EU)
If Israel is smart, they should try to undermine the Syrian-Iranian relationship rather than all out war.

which victory its a zero sum game.. no winners or losers Both countries lost alot of civilian ...
do you believe reallyits a victory for Israel with all its loss against a small part of Iranian army..
what about iran as a whole ..??!
one of the most things that make the most powerful army to lose is not to define the volume & size & power of your enemy..." that was proven through HISTORY"
let first U.S. cure from what's happening in Iraq.....

I don't know if I would call it a "huge victory"....and as far as attacking Iran, I do think the US army is spreading itself rather thin. I am Canadian, not American, but the number of enemies the US is making does worry me.

Iran should be spared from US-Israel attack. Instead, let Iran stop its nuclear program and be given a chance to rehabilitate.
