Usually, the District Atty. will withhold adjudication if you have no prior arrests, and allow you to pay a fine, do community service, and possibly probation. You really want to ask for this, as it will basically be erased as if it never happened. Just be sure to show how remorseful you are for the theft, and comply with all court orders. Good Luck!!

Don't worry too much about it... I was caught shoplifting a while ago, and there is life after this. When you go to your first court date, the judge will assign a pretrial, where you go and meet with the district attorney. If this is the first time you've ever gotten in trouble, you will most likely just have to pay a fine, and the charges will be reduced from a misdemeanor. Some people also have to do community service, although I did not have to do this. If you feel the need, tell the district attorney about your worries about becoming a teacher and possibly ask how you can get your record expunged. The most important thing is you keep looking up, and don't let anyone tell you that you're a bad person because of this kind of mistake.

What the hell ever made you think it was ok to steal anything when you wanted to teach children? Honey we don't need educators like you........we need people with a good moral back ground to take care of kids, not ones that aren't even intelligent enough to know not to steal.

Hopefully its a one time f*ck up on your part and you will not attempt to plead your case to the court. Be a better person than you were today and suck it up! You need to start making amends right now!

Why did you do a stupid thing like this? I don't feel sorry for you. If you do regret what you did than you need to prove your self. Because I wouldn't trust you.
