You may be lacking calcium or potassium. Try drinking more milk or taking a supplement and eating foods high in potassium such as avocados and bananas. Stretching before bedtime can also help to prevent cramps.
There is another possibility: what you are describing as cramps might actually be sciatica. Sciatica is essentially a pinched nerve in your back but it causes shooting pains down your leg or legs. For some reason, it is not too bad during the day, but worsens at night when you lie down. The best thing to do for it is to go to a physical therapist and get traction which pulls the whatever is pinching your nerve off of it. (Going to the gym and using the low back machine on a very low weight sometimes will do the same thing.)

Go outside and get some excersize before the fair. I know you probably feel like crap, but trust me, light excersize reduces the pain. Take a medium speed bike ride, swim some slow laps, or just go for a fast paced walk. It really helps cramps. A little while before you live, take some Extra Strength Midol. If you don't have that, then Advil, Tylenol, etc. At school if your cramps are that bad that day, just say you forgot your gym clothes or go to the nurse and tell her what's up. It might be embarrassing but the nurse is there for that kind of thing! I am sure she will give you advice and excuse you from gym. In 8th grade I had a pretty strict male gym teacher and when my friends and i had period problems, we would go with each other to the nurse.

If you are a female and pregnent - I dont know a cure - I think its normal to get cramps in that situation. \
But if you are not -
You get cramps when you are very tired, very weak or if you are very cold.
Some home remadies from me (tested and proven)
Take extra SALT in your dinner. Even when you are having the cramp, if you eat a little salt - cramp will subside. And if you are on a diet, get off it a little and make your meal a little heavier (you may not be eating enough)
Take a warm drink (say a milk) before you go to bed and this will prevent the cramp if its because of the cold
For the pain that you already have - I can tell you the name of a gel that I have over here - but I dont know if u have it over there! But if you can find - its FASTUM.. Or if you can find any balm with menthol in it - rub it on your leg from knee to ankle before u go to sleep and you should get thru the night peacefully!
Sweet dreams!!!

Leg cramps usually occur at night making it particularly miserable because all the sleep you lose.
There are alot explanations from hydration through lack of minerals. One thing for certain is that a Goode wraps work.
. Stretch and massage straighten your leg and point your toes upward, while you gently rub the cramp to help the muscle relax.
. Stand up for a calf cramp put your weight on the " Cramp" leg and bend your knee slightly.
. Or just buy a Goode wraps leg and go to bed

Are you making lots of sports or using some substance-no offense, please-
In any case, the only solution I know is to extend the leg and flex your finger toes for quite a long time - if somebody lives with you, ask for help -
For the adductores- inside both legs - if you are alone, just press till starts to release. If somebody can help you, then even if hurts, try to open your legs and ask your partner to put resistance when you start slowly closing your legs.
Besides that, there are other many things to consider:
Are you smoker? Age? Problems of high cholesterol in your family? Bad circulation? Familiar cardiovascular problems?
Eating bananas and drinking 7up or sport drinks might supply some potassium, but if you are a healty person, then you might have cramps out of stress- doctors can recommend you excellent relaxants and refer you to a physiotherapist for stretching-
Starting making the exercises I mentioned before will not do you any harm and they help in most of the cases. Nevertheless if this continuous, visit your doctor and ask for some more consistent advice.
Try to relax and have a good night rest,
Fro

You are not getting enough potasium in your system, so your body is dehydrated.
Drink more water.. eat banana's and other foods high in potassium and the cramps should go away.

These are charlie horses. I get them mabybe twice a year. I wake up in the middle of the night screaming, like my legs are being torn apart. I eventually end up balling my eyes out and my boyfriends freaking out. The next day I can barely walk.
Your case is severe. The most I can suggest is that you do a 5 minute stretch out routine before you go to bed. You might need to see a doctor, this shouldnt happen monthly.
