The husband!

We divorced just two years later. I should have seen that comming and never married him in the first place.

HA! I wish my (now ex) husband and his family hadn't been there. The wedding was like a nuclear disaster and omen of the bad things to come, lol. Very posh wedding with a catered four-course meal, and my ex-husband's family kept asking (loudly), "We don't want champagne, where's the beer? Can I get some fries with this lobster - hey did you hear me???" They complained about everything - even my ex was mortified at their behavior.

Aside from the poorly chosen spouse, I'd make sure you have:
1) concrete back-up plans for an outdoor wedding in case of weather
2) make sure your dress and undergarments fit well...it seems as if you're in them forever
3) have several competent/assertive designated problem solvers... i.e., friends or relatives who will QUICKLY handle disruptive toddlers, folks who started drinking before they got there, your Aunt Bessie with Alzheimer's, etc.
4) bring your checkbook...some inconsiderate twit will show up with 2-3 unplanned guests after RSVP'ing as a single....which in our case, meant another $30 per plate (back in the 80's)

Good luck and choose wisely! Hopefully your day will be a brilliant and happy success :-)

I would get married in a church instead of a justice of the peace , I did have a reception though it was nice . I guess it's not where you get married , it's where both of your hearts are at , and that should be as one .
