I THINK SINGAPOREANS ARE VERY PROUD (YAYA)!
MY SISTER WORKED IN A SLIMMING CENTRE (M_ _). HEARD FROM HER THAT, THERE ARE ALOT WEIRD CLIENTS, ALOT OF RICH TAI TAIS WHOM GO THERE FOR SLIMMING TREATMENT. SOME OF THE TAI TAIS ARE VERY ATTITUDE,
THEY'LL MAKE A BIG FUSS OVER VERY SMALL MATTER AND WILL COME OUT TO THE RECEPTION AREA AND SHOUT AT THE STAFFS OVER THE COUNTER, WITH OTHER CLIENTS SITTING AT THE WAITING AREA WAITING FOR THEIR TREATMENTS AND THE POOR RECEPTIONIST/CONSULTANT WILL STILL HV TO SMILE AND TALK TO HER NICELY!
JUST IMAGINE WHAT WILL OTHERS THINK?! I ALSO AGREE THAT MOST SINGAPOREANS DON'T SMILE.
THERE WAS ONCE I WENT TO PASS SOMETHING TO MY SISTER AT HER WORK PLACE, SHE WENT TO THE WASH ROOM, SO I WAITED FOR HER AT THE RECEPTION AREA. HER COLLEAGUES WERE AT THE COUNTER. THEY JUST TALKED AND LAUGH AMOUNG THEMSELVES, BUT WHEN THEY SEE ME WALKING INTO THE SLIMMING CENTRE, I SAW MOST OF THEM WALKED IN TO THE ROOMS AND ONLY ONE OF THE RECEPTIONIST STAYED AT THE COUNTER AND ASKED ME HW CAN SHE HELP ME..WITHOUT SMILING..I TOLD HER THAT I WAS THERE TO LOOK FOR MY SIS..SHE TOLD ME THAT MY SIS IS NOT AROUND AND I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR HER AT THE WAITING AREA..THE FACIAL EXPRESSION SHE GAVE ME WAS..AS IF I'VE DISTURBED HER FROM HER CONVERSATIONS WITH HER OTHER COLLEAGUES..THEN WHILE WAITING..THE RECEPTIONIST WENT INTO THE ROOM AND THERE WAS NOBODY AT THE RECEPTION AREA..THEY WERE TALKING AND LAUGHING LOUDLY IN THE ROOM. I CAN HEAR IT! EVEN IF I'M NOT A CLIENT, BUT WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS?
ANOTHER INCIDENT WAS, MY FRIEND WAS A CLIENT AT THE SLIMMING CENTER MY SIS IS WORKING AT..SHE NEEDS TO GO TO THE WASH ROOM AND SHE NEED TO GET THE WASH ROOM KEY FROM THE RECEPTION..SHE ASKED THE KEY FROM THE STAFF AT THE RECEPTION AND SHE WAS TOLD BY THE STAFF THAT, SOMEONE HAVE JUST TOOK THE KEY, SHE'LL HAVE TO GO KNOCK ON THE WASH ROOM DOOR, SOMEONE INSIDE WILL OPEN THE DOOR FOR HER. SHE FIND IT WIERD, BUT SHE JUST IGNORE IT AND WALKED TO THE WASH ROOM. SHE SAW ONE LADY CAME OUT OF THE WASH ROOM, SO SHE ASKED HER FOR THE KEY. BUT THE STAFF SHOUTED FROM THE RECEPTION AREA AND TOLD THAT LADY NOT TO PASS MY FRIEND THE TOILET KEY. SO THAT LADY DID NOT GIVE MY FRIEND THE KEY. MY FRIEND WAS QUITE ANGRY WITH IT, SO SHE WALKED BACK TO THE RECEPTION AND ASK THE STAFF, WHY CAN'T SHE HAVE THE KEY? THE STAFF TOLD HER THAT, BECAUSE THE KEY IS HER PERSONAL TOILET KEY!!!!!!!!!!!! AND MY FRIEND WAS TOLD TO KNOCK ON THE WASH ROOM DOOR AND SOMEONE WILL OPEN THE DOOR FOR HER. MY FRIEND WAS VERY ANGRY BY THEN, BUT SHE STILL KEPT IT TO HERSELF AND WALKED TO THE WASH ROOM. SHE KNOCKED ON THE DOOR, WAITED FOR ABOUT 10MINS, NO ONE CAME TO OPEN THE DOOR. AND THEN A CLEANER AUNTY WALKED PASS AND SAW HER STANDING OUTSIDE THE WASH ROOM, SHE ASKED MY FRIEND WHY DIDN'T SHE GET THE KEY FROM THE RECEPTION AND USES HER KEY TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR MY FRIEND..THERE ARE NO ONE IN THE WASH ROOM..THE WHOLE TOILET WAS EMPTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY FRIEND WAS VERY ANGRY, BUT SHE STILL KEPT QUIET..SHE WALKED BACK TO THE SLIMMING CENTRE, THE THERAPIST LOOKED AT HER ANGRILY AND TOLD HER.."WHY YOU GO TOILET SO LONG..YOUR TREATRMENT TIME IS UP..YOU WILL DELAY THE PERSON BEHIND YOU..YOU KNOW!" THE RECEPTION STAFF MAKE HER KNOCK ON THE TOILET DOOR AND SHE'VE WAITED THERE LIKE A FOOL..SHE DID'NT EVEN RAISE HER VOICE SO TELL ANYONE OF THEM OFF..THE THERAPIST RAISE HER VOICE AND TALKED TO HER LIKE THAT! SHE'S SO ANGRY ABOUT IT..SHE DID'NT GO BACK 4 HER TREATMENT SINCE THEN AND WAS THINKING OF GETTING BACK A REFUND NOW!

I even have been to Singapore for business company journeys some situations and that i had nutrients in hawker centre and additionally in superb eating places and that i do no longer keep in mind any undesirable experience i've got have been given there. many times, i do no longer assume 5 stars centers in a hawker centre, you pay what you get. with the aid of the way, i'd say .... posting a query like it is extremely impolite to the Singaporeans. no longer each and every Singaporean is working in procuring mall or hawker centre, you purely have met some impolite workers! Take it common and you'd be lots happier in Singapore

Sad to say this, Singaporean is in fact rude. It can be easily recognised in our daily routine. Ppl don't even bother to say thank you when being served. Rushing into MRT before others can even alight is also a common scene.
There are times when others bang into you but they still stared at you as if you are in the wrong. Singaporeans are getting more self centred nowadays too.

Yes Singaporeans are rude. Try being in the customer service line in Singapore. You'll see rude people everywhere.

I would not use rude to descripe Singaporean. They are more deserve. They don't smile to any strangers, they don't shown grateful even they appreciate what other did for them. They are straight forwards, maybe due to language constraint, their comments is always hurting. Basically, they are not good at interacting with people. Just look at Yahoo answer for Singapore answer, we will find their answer is not rude, compare world wide.

Definitely! because Singapore held the Courtesy Campaign annually. This is a reminder to all Singaporeans. Thus, the government also agreed, or else they will not do it annually. This involved cost, you know!

Unfortunately some are rude (and don't careful cos they think they own Singapore), some don't know they are and some just want to take advantage. Take for example, the other day was waiting to be served at Bengawan Solo, this woman nicely dressed just walks straight up to counter disregarding the queue and was expected to be served. Sometimes I wish the server would tell them to join the queue, but they are just as frustrating, they continue to serve the one that just pushed in.
