The best customer service I recieved was from British Airways. I didn't get to check in until 10.10 ans my flight was supposed to leave at 10.25 (because my flight across the atlantic was delayed). The lady at check in couldn't have been more helpful, she even phoned the gate to let them know that I was on my way and not to leave without me.
The worst customer service I have ever received has to be from Churchill (car insurance). They took 6 months to pay a bill, even though I have fully comprehensive insurance and only paid it them when I went to the financial services ombudsman. It was only for £112... When they phoned me back about it, the woman on the phone admitted that she had no idea why they hadn't paid it

I have lots of GOOD customer service memories. Only on rare ocassion do I get a bad one.
Latest: I just moved to WI, so I had to get hooked up with a new family physician. I filled out all the paperwork and showed up for my first appointment. Everyone was really nice, and I waited a whole total of about 5 minutes. However, I waited back in the patient room for an hour, so I went out to the front desk and asked if maybe there was a better time to reschedule the appointment. They ran around like mad looking for the doctor and trying to figure out what the holdup was. Then the lady at the front desk came back and told me that the doctor had gotten behind today as she had to stitch someone up. She then gave me a gift certificate for $10 to a local store, and said the doctor would be in in about 10 minutes.
The doctor was very sweet and competent. She also gave me a hug as I was leaving and welcomed me to Madison, WI. (They also didn't ask me about the co-pay...ooops!)
I thought that was very nice, despite the wait earlier.

Bank of Nova Scotia no one beats their customer service. If you're cut off when speaking to someone there, they immediately call you back. If you make a request from their bank, count on someone calling you within a couple of days to ensure that you've received something that was to be sent by mail or if all is ok with what you received. Their follow up is impeccable & the staff is so courteous.

i was in a starbucks here in Shanghai and right after i got my order, i accidentally dropped my cup on the floor. The barrista immediately, make another one for me free of charge. I can never forget that incident bec its the best customer service i have ever received all my life and it happened in China!
Think about it - as a customer, u dont even have to be in an awkward situation thinking if u r gonna order again or ask for another cup.. out of the goodness of his heart, he just answer ur confusion.

Here are my best and worst:
The Best:
http://www.Zappos.com Always a friendly representative, during weekdays the calls are directed to a call center located here in the U.S., during weeknights and on weekends they are re-directed to a Indian call center with very good English-speaking representatives. They always upgrade my orders to overnight UPS delivery free of charge and Free return shipping if i ever need to send the merchandise back.
The Worst:
HSBC's http://www.orchardbank.com Never a dull moment with these people, if you're not careful, they will stab you in the back when you least expected. They are not friendly at all, they promise a lot and delivery nothing. It doesn't matter if you follow their rules, the lies never end with HSBC.

Telephone talker at the garbage company. Knew her stuff and was helpful to a fault. On the other hand, the worst customer service I ever had was also at the garbage company -- their accounting department had my bill screwed up for months.

At a beautiful little pub in the Yorkshire Dales, we hadn't been for a while and still assumed they served lunch until 3 pm, that had changed due to new management but they went out of their way to make us a huge plate of sandwiches and a plate of chips to share, they even brought out a bowl of water for our dog and gave her some slices of ham, a drink on the house and apologised for no longer serving lunch until 3 pm, we were amazed at their kindness and customer care as we had only enquired as to if they were still doing lunch, how nice was that of them, it is still one of our regular haunts on a nice summers day.

Believe it or not Argos!
My uncle wanted a Microwave/combi oven, so I ordered a £200 Panasonic example online from Argos.I thought, if I am going to get one I will get a good one....... it died within a week ! So I e -mailed them. Within 4 hours they replied to me asking me to put the faulty appliance in its original box, so it would be collected that Friday, which they duly did.The following Monday they delivered a replacement. Great!

Amtrak screwed up my tickets, and I missed my connection. I got a sleeper berth from New York to Washington, $100 meal voucher, and another ticket to Dallas where I had to go, via Chicago. They even called my hotel in Dallas and reconfirmed my stay, and my daughter to tell her why I wasn't in Dallas when I should have been. Mind you, the fact that my other daughter had to see a specialist in Dallas probably helped

Seriously, being a patient on the NHS, I have no complaints, on the contrary, the opposite applies, nurses and doctors are our unsung heroes and we should support them all the way instead of making them scapegoats for all the wrongs in the system
