Hello dear!
Definitely you buy a house to stay or as an investment!
Home, though, is to stay and secure family!
Thus, you start your home around your work and living place! So, where do you live, work, is your family? There you try to buy! For some places, US$50,000 is enough while for others might be the first payment! I would like to live in Greece, either outside Athens, since everything is passing through Athens! Of course, again, it depends where you feel like home and where your operations are based! I would suggest you: Chalkis, half an hour by train and still country side having all infrastructure ready and operating!

You cannot buy a decent home for USD 50000 in any big city anywhere in the world.

If you have a bigger budget i would suggest buy a home in Dubai. Its a good place to live, relatively safe and ultra modern.

Prices start about 100000 USD

Long term loan facilities are also available.

Lebanon, nah.
Saudi Arabia, too hot.
China, too many people.

If it was me, I would go into a place that I feel comfortable. And has relatives, living there.
