That's absurd. Reading through your questions, you seem to have some sort of irrational fear about teachers, women, the KKK, and racism and a vendetta to promote the same. The only reason there aren't more minority teachers in schools is because there aren't more minority people qualified. The way to "equate" the teaching field is for more minorities to work hard at completing their education and going on to a higher education. The opportunity is there. It just isn't easy. Why don't you complete your education, open your mind, and become a teacher so you can experience what the true issues are and make a difference?

Well you are absolutely right to be concerned. But one thing you must remember is that whites outnumber blacks and any other race or minority. So therefore the playing fields are going to be outnumbered in one area. Of course racisim still exists. Any black person living in America can attest for that. However Martin Luther King himself said that a person should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. So just because we have more white teachers, I can not place the judgment that they are kkk members or that they belong to other white supremicist organizations. You are right when you say we need more minority teachers. The truth of the matter is that most of the time American children irregardless of race are not taught the about how America was built on the backs of slaves and how blacks have made many strides in America to make it the place that it is today. Yes most people's eyes are wide shut. Their eyes are open yet though do not see the dilema.

Actually I have a question for the person asking this question, if there are like you say four white teachers at a certain school. Why should it be necessary to have four Mexican and four black teachers? According to the 2004 census, white America still makes up 67 percent of this country, while Hispanics rank at 14 percent and blacks make up 12 percent. If that school's hiring mirrored the population of the United States of America there would be 8 white teachers, 2 Hispanic teachers and 2 black teachers. Why can't we hire based on who is best for the job, instead of who looks best for the job. The only way for America to move into the future is as a colorblind society. That means no preferred treatment for anybody.

As long as the teachers are hired based on how good they will be at the job (qualifications, grade, legal records, and all that), then it is stupid to say to change it. if only one mexican aplies for the job, it shouldn't be automatic that they get the job, but it does also work the other way. if only one white aplies then they shouldn't be automatic either. i would prefer to have a more qualified african, mexica, samolian or whatever race you want teach my kids then a less qaulified white person. if i were a minority i would feel the same, more qualified gets the job whether i like thier race or not.

btw: The person above me says that any black person can attest to the fact that racism still exists, and thats true. But equally important is the fact that any white person can to; blacks tend to treat whites like ****. I believe that they see racism and react back, what they don't relize is that if they just treated us as they wished to be treated then whites would be more likely to do the same for them. (Please be sure to readpast this next line so i can explain myself) I will easily admit that i have a real prejudice against many minorities, and the biggest 2 are simalians and africans. Now let me define 'prejudice': Prejudice is to "pre judge", pre judging someone based on the facts you have(IE: most black people i know treat me like **** before i say or do a thing towards them, good or bad. i have placed my trust in black people, and all but one time, they have failed my trust) The big thing is, prejudice is fine, but not being willing to change your mind about a given person is not. if i meet a black person, i usually try to talk to them, and if they don't treat me as others have, then i drop much of my predjudice, and if it continues well, them more and so on untill they are a great friend. i have black and mexican, and all those other races, friends, and trust them completely and care about them as much as anyone else i know. anyway, i'm going to call this good, any questions or objections email me at pyrobenson@yahoo.com

What the hell? As a minority, having all white teachers doesnt mean they are racist. Secondly, unless its a class on racism, I dont see why skin color has to do with physics, chemistry. If they are qualified, then let them teach. Thirdly, when I graduated from my high school, I left taking what I learned and not the color of my teachers' skin.

FOURTHLY, you will agree with me minorities...are minorities. You will also agree with me that not all minorities speak english perfectly. Even if you want equality, there aren't enough qualified english-speaking teachers.

the best kept secret is not to believe the devil exists...kinda ripped that line from usual suspects, eh?

Howabout this? I say if there are four qualified teachers, then there should be four qualified teachers. Why should the skin color matter? I believe children in the ghetto deserve a good education, not a teaching staff that is equal in numbers in regards to skin color.

I am torn on this one, on the one hand i feel that there should be a balance of ethicnicity in educational facilities, but also agreee with one of the posts, that it is not about skin color, but about the quality of the teaching staff and how dedicated they are to better educating the youth of your society as a whole, not based on race and background.

You are retarded. Why do black teachers exist then? Are all white people evil? Shut up and stop playing the race card. Oh and I'm not white.

i dont think that white teachers is a problem. Ignorant people who raise their children to hate are the problem. Children dont learn hate from their teachers.
