I was trying to answer someone else's question on what and why is love, and I went to my fav quotations site (http://www.quotationspage.com/subjects/love/31.html) and I found this thought, and thought it was interesting... What do you think?

Is love supposed to last throughout all time, or is it like trains changing at random stops. If I loved her, how could I leave her? If I felt that way then, how come I don't feel anything now?
Jeff Melvoin, Northern Exposure, Altered Egos, 1993

Sometimes we are in love with the "idea" of being in love and talk ourselves into it. Real love does last throughout all time, but if you settle for something less then it is just a fleeting infatuation. Real love sees all the faults and still endures. I don't have any famous quotes, just my own belief that love is an invisible string that ties my heart to the heart of my soul-mate. It takes work and there are no guarantees. The string is strong, but it can break if you pull too hard on it and it can fray if you let anything come between you.

There is no answer as to what true love might be aside from describing the physical properties of the brain that form attraction from infancy and then progress it into a need that is recognized in various stages of life so that your brain actually reforms itself to recognize and gravitate toward this need. Which ironically enough is the same def. for drug addiction. None of which is romantic at all which is why poet are and will be always be employed. As for the change mentioned in the poem, Rehab? Or perhaps moving on to a heavier drug, ie pot to heroin?

LOVE IS:

1. Knowing the limitation of all other individuals as you
2. Then accepting the limit of thoughts and perceptions of others as you'
3. Allowing the other person to yell and kick you.
4. It is a total surrender to the complete silence even when there is lot of violence and noise around
5. Realising the Love as unconditional

7.Realising the Love as it is.....not as anything else.......

You cant find the meaning of love in quotations cause not everything in the world is reasonable you cant explain it its sth about emotion and you can just experience it to know what it really is!
good or bad love is emotion and less logical then when you want to interpret it by your brain it became sth ridiculous
don't think just feel it!

Love is an intense feeling of goodwill and care towards another being, often accompanied by the desire to physically be with that being.

How's that? I think that about covers any kind of love: platonic, sexual, unrequitted, maternal or even a love for a pet.
