For sure Religion is a classic case of 'brain washing' the ultimate proof is that it is practised to this very day. So religion does in fact exist ! People do believe there is a God sitting up there on a cloud watching us all! We were all brain washed by our parents or society from the day we were born!
Voodoo could be another example, if you have been taught since birth that it is possible to have a 'spell' put on you, then you will believe it, and through your mind it could actually become a fact !
Now if of course you have learned to understand that all the above are complete rubbish then rubbish it is!
Hope this helps??

Yes, people can be 'programmed' (aka brainwashed). Hypnosis is actually controlled by the person being hypnotized, so it cannot be used to cause someone to do anything outside of their morals or ethics, or anything they wouldn't consider doing even when very drunk.

Neuro Linguistic Programming can be used to achieve quick results in your favor by connecting positive feelings, etc to whatever it is you're trying to get the person to do/think.

Keep in mind that coercing someone to do something against their will is unethical. NLP is actually intended for overcoming bad habits, and changing ones own behavior for the better.

Brainwashing is a lengthy process that was often practiced in prison camps and the like.. it generally involves sensory deprivation and sensory overload. The idea is that if you hear something and see something enough it becomes the only truth you know.

We all try to control other peoples thoughts and minds all the time. A baby crying for milk for example, a woman wearing a low cut top on a night out, a salesman looking for a sale.

Because our conscious minds are only the tip of an iceberg then we can be influenced without us even knowing it. The unconscious mind can be thought of in terms of peripheral vision. During the day our eyes are focused on the activity or event which immediately preoccupies us. However the peripheral vision is also working at the same time, monitoring what is going on outside of our immediate conscious experience.

The British entertainer Derren Brown is a master of suggestion and mind control. For example he set up a shopping mall to be full of signs saying 'Put Your Hands In The Air' at a given moment he stood on a balcony and shouted to everyone through a megaphone to raise their hands - without exception everyone in the place (and there were plenty) put up their hands (looking slightly bemused it has to be said). This is just one quite basic 'trick' he has played. Some of the things he does are truly amazing. Check out his web site where he explains some of the techniques he uses and why they work.

Never doubt your Mind
It is ourselves we doubt
The Mind is far too powerful than we think.
Let's not limit It
Respect It and use It wisely
