Unlike my fellow Yahoo! Answer users below me, I will give you USEFUL information. Teacher salaries vary greatly by not only experience alone, but also demographically. Certain states pay more than others, and certainly some cities pay more than other cities in the same state. $20,000 - $50,000 is a pretty fair estimate on beginning teacher salaries, and if one continues his/her education by obtaining a Master's or Doctorate degree, then those numbers increase significantly. Elementary teachers tend to make less than middle level to upper level educators, and college professors make more money than the upper level educators.

In Oklahoma, first year public school teachers get $31,000 now. Some districts within the state can choose to pay more, but no public school district can pay less. The longer you teach, the more you make. Additional classes and degrees can increase the salary.

For many states, you can go to the state dept of education web site for information on beginning teacher salaries.
