What do frogs eat?
Adult frogs and toads are always predatory, preying on insects mostly but also smaller frogs and fish. Tadpoles are mostly vegetarian, grazing on algae that grow in leaf or rock surfaces under the water. Sometimes, very large tadpoles, such as bullfrog tadpoles, become meat-eaters and sometimes even eat other frogs.

Frogs are opportunistic and will eat pretty much anything that moved enough to trigger a predatory response and that will fit in their mouths. Depending on the species, a frog may eat insects, worms, small birds, snakes, lizards, rodents and other frogs.

Frogs are carnivorous. All frogs prey on insects and other invertebrates. But larger frogs such as bullfrogs and the African Goliath frog will eat anything that they can swallow, including other frogs, rodents, birds, fish and in the case of the bullfrog, baby alligators.

Frogs are carnivores, as is easily seen from their very short large intestine. During dissections in bio lab we have found insects and crayfish-crawdads in their stomachs, intestines partially digested.

They have an amazing tongue that is forked and attached in the front on their mandible. The tongue whips out and grabs a small flying insect or a small fish. How they caught the crawdad would be interesting to ponder!

Frogs are carnivores and will eat any animal smaller than itself... and sometimes will try to eat things about the same size or larger.

It depends on the frog.Although most eat insects, some are known to eat larger quarry. Bullfrogs are known for eating just about anything. I once say one on tv swallow a bird. I've caught them on fishing tackle using earthworms, but they will eat lizards and snakes as well.
