Yes, the same thing happens to me occasionally. Pretty scary huh? Some people say it's an out of body experience...but I don't wanna get into that freaky stuff right now. Ever dreamed of flying, or falling from the top of a high building and waking up just as you're about to hit the ground?

This has happened to me quite frequently over the years, for about 20...give or take a few. At first I found it scary and then about 10 years ago a psychic told me it was called Astro Projecting and wasn't scary at all just some people have the ability and others do not. I still find it a bit confusing but not scary anymore. Hope this helps.

This has happened to me all my life, and I still have it. Its Astro projecting or out of body. Its hard and frustrating when you try to wake out of it because youre not really back in your body yet. when I started to just let it come I could actually walk around my house. I would know I was really asleep because things in the house would be a little different. After a while the static that I felt felt comfortable, like I was headed for a deep comfortable sleep. Then I would wake up and walk around, only to realise that im still sleeping! If that makes sense.

I suggest you do some studying of states of consciousness. Make sure you refer to proper academic books or if searching on Internet, try Wikipedia.
What might be happening is you are experiencing a threshold between different states of consciousness, i.e. a state between sleep mode and awake mode. While your senses are aware your surrounds, you can not physically react.
You might be exhausted due to hard physical work, or some other stress.
Practise full conscious brain activity like calculation, accounting, fast paced problem solving, etc. then when you feel exhausted, do the opposite - practise relaxing your mind, think of some good moments, scenes, and people you feel easy with. You can do this with eyes closed, and slow breathing for 15 minutes.
This way, you can train your mind to race or relax when needed. This exercise might even help you resolve the source of stress causing all this anxiety.

Yes, this happens to many people.
It can be very scary. And yes, you do wish that someone would just touch you or push you or something to get you to "come back".
It is not an "out of body experience" as that is very different.
It has a lot to do with brain chemistry.
The best thing to do is to try to remain calm and maybe even go back to sleep for a little while...I know, it is much easier said than done.
There is NOTHING wrong with you at all.

Its called paralysis. Its probably all in your head too which would explain the dream like sequence when its happening. Strong electromagnetic fields targeting the right part of your brain can do it. The only reason I know this is because on the discovery channel they had a special about aliens, and this was one of the possible 'logical explanations' for alien encounters. But then again I'm not a doctor, and this could be something completely different.

The same thing happened to me many times during hot & humid weather especially when I took a nap in the afternoon. Sometimes I felt I got up & walked about in the bedroom but I was actually immobilzed in bed & it took enormous mental effort to really wake up. It was indeed a scarry experience. I don't encounter this problem if the weather is cool or when I use an electric fan to keep myself as cool as possible while I'm sleeping.
So maybe you can minimize or avoid this problem if you sleep in a very cool, well-ventilated bedroom with a fan switched on.

Yes.. this happens to me all the time. It is a sleep disorder and other people do the same thing. Just try not be afraid. The next thing that will happen to you is that your spirit will leave your body. You will be able to actually float around in the room... when this happens, do not be afraid. It will go back in your body... and then the third thing that happened to me was a presence was in the room. It felt like someone was actually trying to hold my spirt in the corner of the room and not let it float back to my body... Just remember not to be scared and the feeling will pass.... this lasted for me about 2 years.

Yes! It is scary. My father also reported having the same experience at least once. As it only happened to me once, I didn't discuss it with anyone beyond reporting the oddity to the first people I saw upon awakening, but if it becomes a recurring problem, I would consult a sleep specialist.
