Don't worry about impressing him. He should be attracted to you not your clothes.

I personally do not think that you should be worrying about impressing a guy who you cried over, but that's something you learn with age.
But I do remember when I was going to 7th grade not too long ago and how I felt about a similar situation. Personally, if you want to impress a guy or captivate his interest, it seems that the best way to go is a mysterious look. You're too young to show too much and you shouldn't have to. Based on your body type, pick an outfit that flatters you and one that you feel confident in. The more confident you are, the more you will glow and the more people will be attracted to you, and that's something I wish I had learned a long time ago.
And after you get this guy's attention, don't be too desperate! See what kind of person he is and make a judgement over time and see if he is even worth tears or the frustration you're dealing with now!

Just be yourself. If he doesn't like the real you then he's not worth it. Don't be someone your not just to get a boy's attention.
But if you don't want that advise then here is some more: It depends on your style and his style. Are you guys jocky/cheerleadery/preppy Kind of people or do you like the punk/skater or Gothic kind of look? And to impress him, you might go talk to him. I'm going into 9th this year so I kinda have the same problem you do but I'm not worried about it. But I know how you feel.
Conversation starters:
See if you guys have a class or two together.
Ask if he wants to eat lunch with you and maybe a few friends.
Just go up and say hi and ask if he knows his way around, pretend you don't know where anything is and have him give you a tour.
For clothes:
Wear something that's not going to be uncomfortable that you might look stupid in such as a sweater and it's 100 degrees outside.
Pick one of your favorite things out of your closet. If you like it and he likes it you already have something in common! =)
Make-Up:
If you are allowed to wear make-up, remember: Less is more. And light colors make you look older if your young but younger if your old. And your young so you'll look maybe a year older.

I would say wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable at the same time. Don't wear something that's unusual for you to be seen wearing, wear something that reflects your true style. Choose an outfit that shows your regular style yet add an eye catching accessory or something along those lines. Most importantly, never be someone your not just to impress a guy. Good luck!

O.K. first, get a grip on your raging hormones, learn how to spell and forget the guy if he made you cry. You need to learn about who exactly you are and what your priorities are and once you find that out, you will learn to be confident and 'all that other crap', not to desperately try to impress ANY guy in your grade, and that guys not revolve around clothes. (at least not all)

If this guy knows you like him and he doesn't like you back he's already a loser. You don't need to impress him. If you want him to like you, be yourself. No one wants to fall in love with a fake!! Plus...they are plenty of smokin guys waiting for you this year. Don't be distracted by the guys and cry over them--they come and they go...trust me. Let them come to you. Be confident about yourself and your looks. Wear something you KNOW looks good and shows off your body. But wear this to feel good about yourself and to look great. Not to impress your crush. Let all them guys know that your the best it gets and you'll have them all over you in no time. Including this oh so fabulous guy you speak of.

Wear something which is comfortable and casual but sexy. Like jeans. This part isn't sexy, but I think u should wear a blue long sleeved shirt witout a collar or any buttons. And also look confident.

wear anything RED. Its a scientific fact that men are drawn to the color red. And from exereince, when I wear something red when I go out, I get the most attention. RED!!! RED!!! And make sure you be on fire when you come through the halls!!!

just look normal
if u impress, he will always be waiting for you to go to that higher level all the time
dont do it for him
it will only make you nervouse

i,M AGREE WITH THE FIRST ANSWER .if he loves he won't care to u r clothes u is important not u r clothes so if he really wants and love just u DO NOT WORRY.
