that is because there has been a holiday celebrated around easter time for thousands of years. Many thousands before jesus's birth and death. I'm not saying that easter isn't a valid holiday, nor am i trying to take away from it simply laying out facts. Alot of the old pagan religions to include wicca and shamanism still to this day celebrate the spring holidays. That is the basis for other countries celebrating around that time...they always have. Oh in case your curious the holiday used to be called and still is by soem of us Ostara. Good luck and be safe.

Well, Easter is truly a universal holiday, but I think it's because of its significance that it's celebrated differently. For example, in many Latin American countries, we have the "Semana Santa" processions in towns and cities large and small. In Wales, it's known as "Flowering Sunday" because it celebrates the return of the flora and fauna to the country side. And of course, we're all familiar of the solemn celebrations in the Holy Land and in Rome!

Easter varies each year. the only ingredient genuine is that it happens on a Sunday each and every of the time. In Orthodox worldwide places like Russia, Greece, etc it must be celebrated on a diverse day from the Catholic west. you may "is going" easter egg searching on your individual outdoor if all I care. attempt a close-by Christian Church with new child's Easter application activities. This year that's April 8.

I do not know much about what customs were celebrated in countries other than the USA, but I can tell you that it is not appropriate to ABORT the UNBORN CHILD and paint up the SHELL while slaughtering the mother, and then "framing": the rabbit with the basket.

It is not so much a question of countries as of religious traditions. The Russian Orthodox and Greek Orthodox traditions may be different from those based on Roman Catholicism.
