Communists, yes. Part of the communist doctrine and manifesto says that religion is a social injustice. The democrats, well yes and no. The far left democrats who are more socialist than democrat, they resemble the Communists more than anything else. The moderates still hold faith in high regard. But as can be seen believers like Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller are quickly becoming outsiders in the democrat party.
As Howard Dean continues to move the party more to the left I feel you will see a heightening to the aggressiveness from the democrats toward anyone with faith.
This is a slippery slope. If democrats move to far to the left they will turn against the 92% of America which believers in a higher power.

Democrats aren't officially anti-religion, though any anti-religion person can be a Democrat. The Chinese Communist Party is officially atheist, but there are still a lot of people in China that practice folk religions, Buddhism, etc.

As usual your misinformed, Democrats aren't anti religion, we just don't think religion has a place in government. And really it doesn't, If we put religion in our government what religion would it be? Christian? Not every body in America is a christian. Muslim? Not every body is Muslim, Judaism? not every body is Jewish. and there inlays the problem, Not everybody is the same religion, so setting a national religion would infringe on a persons right to worship as they see fit.
