Under the circumstances...ask and they may let you out. If not, gently "imply" that you think you should discuss this with your attorney friend/brother/sister/mom/dad...
Worst case, if they still decline...probably 1 months rent.

In Tx. once signing a renters lease, and then breaking it, you have to pay for each month you signed, times the amount of your rent. Also In Tx, in order to get a good apartment, they run a renters check, on you. If they see that you have broken a lease agreement, they charge you a higher deposit. But by law, your safety is the number one thing, and luckily here in Tx, we still believe this.... So, If you have reported this to your apartment manager, every time, as well as reported it to your local police department, then, you have something to show, that your safety, was at risk, which gives you the right to terminate.... Just be sure you give your apartment manager, a months notice. So she will, know, that the apartment will be available.... soon.
