Myself, I'd ask what exactly the comlications are before giving a definite answer. Frankly, I am told I have a slim to none chance of carrying a child to term after my last pregnancy, and a very high risk of a premature delivery starting at or earlier than the one before, which was 25 weeks. I am now 5 weeks and a few days pregnant, and I trust in God to care for me. I would have to realy pray and think hard before I terminated a pregnancy. Doctors aren't always right you know!! :-) It would be a hard choice for sure. Not being in that position, I can't really answer for sure.

The way the question is written suggests that his wife and his child are both somehow his property and that he has the right to choose between them; I certainly hope that the doctors did not actually present the situation in this way.
His wife is her own adult human being, and her life and medical decisions belong to her, not to her husband. Surely it is her choice more than anybody else's whether to risk her life for her baby's -- though of course her husband's input will be a part of her decision.

If I had to choose to lose a friend or sister or something then I agree that I would terminate the pregnancy. But if I were in the same shoes I would choose for my child to live.

i think at this situation is not a matter of choosing but a dame hard decision to make. both your aunt and uncle might be very sad of letting their baby to go. however, in long term they are saving their baby from suffering. nobody can gurantee that the baby would a normal one.

The mom.
Mom is already a normal human being. Noone can guarantee the baby will survive and be normal. It is not unconseiveable that they can have more babies.
