love draws you to the positives in someone, something, somewhere ...

... it blinds you from seeing and realizing the whole truth because you sacrifice everything and make your decisions based on the positives ...

... a blind love is pure acceptance -- of one's strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, intelligence and ignorance, joy and pain ...

... being blind in love is healthy only when the object of your love returns your affection in equal parts.

Everyone should have a blind love at least once in life.

I'll give it a go - being a point whore n all --

This excerpt is from a poem written in a medieval style -
By me -
The general discussion was what makes a man good -
The poem talks about love -

"What of the love of a good woman?" said a comely lass by the fire, soft orange lights a-glint in her tousled auburn hair and ebon eyes, "I hear tell that Prince Sven is beloved of the Lady Kolfinna, does this not redound to his fame?"

Now perchance find we a proper test!
Genteel lovers, when they 'nounce their choice,
Heap laudations 'pon the one deemed best,
And tender honor through the love they've voiced.
But, love's a mazzy troublous doubtful thing,
Too fickle to be trusted as just guide,
Sith that the Eagle soaring high on wing,
Falls hard at times for dainty Mouse espied.

Tys not enough, since love's not always wise,
If fame be reflected from another's eyes.

I always liked that image of an Eagle falling in love with a mouse for some reason... Talk about blind!!!

Whatever! Definitely not run-of-the-mill question asking! I liked it, thanks...

I believe that love is blind because yes looks may mean a lot but truthfully if you meet someone who is a real asshole and they look good, you will not want to date them anyways...and think about couples that have been together for a long time, they have seen each other sick and vomiting...they have seen each other early in the morning b4 showers...they have seen each other at their worst and they still love each other. So therefore I believe when you really fall in love that it will not matter what the person looks like but more of how they make you feel when you are with them and thats why I think love is blind.

I think love is blind means that when you love someone you are blind to all their faults. You love them no matter what, even if they should lose their arms and legs, you would still love them. We see parents with a baby that has a birth defect and they see their baby as the most beautiful child in the world. Now that's a good example of love is blind.

The Greeks and Romans considered that the God of Love (Eros in Greek, Cupid in Latin) was blind, because lovers are blind to the faults or the unsuitability of the one they love. Sometimes they painted or sculpted Eros/Cupid with a blindfold, just to make the point.

The proverb "Love is blind" derives directly from this concept, and has been used by many English writers including William Shakespeare.

I think cats are awesome. I think that if I never get married and turn into a bitter, lonely old man I'll own fifty-five cats and they'll all eat me when I die in the shower. You know what else is cool? Snakes. Not the animal. Like, um, the bastard cousin of the really crappy firecracker? You light it and it builds a little pillar of ash. Yeah. I want to stack a hundred of them one on top of another and light them, and watch them build a pillar of ash so high it tickles a cloud, and the cloud sneezes? And it startles a passing bird who's all "WTF, mate?" (It's an australian bird). And then some other cool stuff happens. Stuff. Yeah. And for some reason this dude gives me ten bucks and I'm like "Cool, ten bucks!"

Because when you go into a relationship you tend not to want to see the bad things about that person. You brush them aside and make excuses in your mind for why they do certain things. Friends can even tell you things about your "loved one" and a person in "love" just will not or cannot see that persons flaws. That's why they say that "love is blind" and "Marriage is an eye-opener".

Are you talking about love, or usage of the word.

What you are referring as blind could be the overwhelming chemistry at work, or whatever switches our brain activity into low reasoning and highly gullible mode (namely weak beta and strong theta rhythms).

This blindness is not necessarily bad. It might have helped the diversity of individuals, accepting each other ! . . . watch out for the cliff, and stepping on toes.

It is all a psychological mishap hard-wired into our genes by overwhelming hormones. Our primitive senses influence us to reproduce & so physical attraction is a major keypoint; however, man has evolved with intelligence and emotion, both of which counter against our primordial logic of reproduction. Men and women fall in love, attracted to the wrong things & our sense of well-being crashes by the negative impact.

Love is not blind grasshopper.. it sees more therefore is willing to see less.. we all fool ourselves some how.. in your quest of the perfect heart...look for the heart that looks like a red leather patchwork...they have learned to share.. Who possesses such a heart.. many make the mistake of spending their lives with red hot lovers..for me..I'd rather spend that with a best friend..some one who knows all your evil secrets and loves you anyway.
