for a hourly job quitting is usually pretty informal. you can just tell the manager in person - don't do it by phone - and let them know you can stay on for two weeks so they can replace you... often times when you're working so few hours they will tell you not to worry about it and you are done after that shift. just make sure when you tell them why you're leaving to let them know that it just didn't work out because you expected more hours - or whatever diplomatic reason you want to give them - do not to say anything inappropriate, because they will still come up on your credit record when you apply for your next job and you may need to have a pleasant reference from them.

if you've signed for 40 hours per week, they HAVE to pay you for 40 hours per week, even if you don't do that many
CHECK YOUR CONTRACT AGAIN!!

you could talk to your boss and let him/her know if you don't get more hours you'll have to quit.
