Download spysweeper (14day trial) from www.webroot.com and visit www.spywareinfo.com

If you are not computer liteate, you should have your computer cleaned of viruses and spyware imediately since it is likely infected. Entering any personal information now could be a security issue untill it has been cleaned. Have your computer cleaned by a friend, or a reccommended person who has good experience removing spyware. failing this take it to a reputable & reccommended local computer store to be professionally cleaned - average price should be $65 to $85 though (in USD).

http://www.webroot.com/ best spyware remover
http://www.lavasoft.com/ adaware, free spyware remover (SpySweeper is much better with hard to remove spyware)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 best free antivirus program
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/... get firefox best browser that blocks most popups also learn to use the ADBlock plugin

Note, if you have spyware on your computer, that software will generate popups that can not be prevented by any popup blocker. You must have the spyware removed.

Tip: Avoid downloading anything 'free'. If you do, read the agreement very carefully, do not download anything that is 'ad-supported'.

Stop using Internet Explorer - it's a major security risk to your computer, use Firefox (mentioned above) instead. Your computer can become infected by simply visiting a malicious website if you use Internet Explorer.

Run Windows Update and get all the latest security patches for windows.

Dude, you need Lavasoft. It costs around 30 bucks and it solves it in a jiffy. You can download the free version but I don't know for how long it's good for. I had severe problems with my computer and I had a computer tech come to my house and fix it. I've never had any problems with spyware or adware in more than 2 years now.

Don't download spysweeper or any other "free" program because sometimes those are actually recording your website visits and sending your pop ups! I used to use Spysweeper only to find out it was tracking my internet behaviour and sending it to their websites and tracking centers.
I have Norton Anti-Virus with Spyware protection. Yes, you have to pay for it. But I rarely see a pop-up ad. Maybe three a month and it depends what site you visit.
Also, try using Firefox... Like the other people mentioned.

Popups are are sure sign that your computer is infected with spyware or adware. Probably from some so called "free" software that you may have downloaded. The reason that the software is free is that they bombard your computer with advertisements. Free smilies, screen-savers and music sharing programs such as Kazza, and Limewire are notorious for being bundled with this crap.

Just get Firefox. Set it up in Tools>Options>Content to "Block Pop-up Windows". Problem solved.

Oh...and DL Spybot S&D to clean your box up. It's a freebie, too.
