G'day C-money,

Thanks for the question.

I have heard of them and I endorse your recommendations.

The John Butler Trio is a jam band from Australia led by guitarist and vocalist John Butler. Two albums released by the band Three (2001) and Living 2001-2002 (2003) have gone platinum in Australia and reached the top ten of the Australian album charts in those years. The 2004 album Sunrise Over Sea debuted at number one on the Australian charts on March 15, 2004 reaching gold record status in its first week on sale. It has since gone multi-platinum. This success is more impressive given that the bands releases are marketed independently by Jarrah Records which John Butler co-owns with West Australian folk band the Waifs. Sunrise Over Sea has been released in the US on Atlantic Records.

The band has won an ARIA award for "Best Independent Release" for Three in 2001 and has been nominated for three others. Three was released in the U.S. in 2002 and the John Butler Trio toured the U.S. in that year supporting the Dave Matthews Band and John Mayer.

As befits a former busker from Fremantle, Butler is famous for the quality of his live performances and his rapport with his audience. His playing style is also vibrant and original, incorporating western and eastern styles such as blues, Indian and Celtic. He is also well known for his amazing instrumental solo pieces including Ocean, Mist, Spring and Under an Indian Sky. Additionally he plays harmonica, didgeridoo, drums and chooses amplified acoustic instruments such as the 12-string (although he removes the G-6th string to play more intricate solos), lapsteel and banjo (in his recent productions).

His website states that he has a new album coming out shortly. He was on Andrew Denton's program Enough Ropeon ABC-TV recently.

I have attached some sources for your reference.

Regards

definite, I even have. they're ok, yet i think of there are far greater proper bands available. I additionally sense that their modern album (Lies For the Liars, no longer Shallow Believers, which wasn't all that super the two in my humble opinion) replaced into lacking. In an quite major way. =/ as nicely that, for some reason, Bert has consistently gotten on my nerves. uncertain why. He basically does.

They opened for John Mayer once and then for DMB so I've seen them twice. I have their album entitled "three". Try pick apart, take, what you want, and earthbound child.
