Just make him a nice dinner and take him to the movies. Then make sure you let him pick the movie! :)

More than giving him a present, I would suggest make him feel a king on the special day.
1)wake up early, prepare tea, breakfast etc.
2)give him a warm soothing kiss to wake him up
3)wish him a happy birthday
4)cuddle with him, if he is in the mood give yourself in
5)prepare things for him to have morning wash
6)prepare things for him to have breakfast
7)as time permits, cook dinner for him
8)make the night a memorable one for him
I think no souvenir will give him a satisfaction of this sort.

ok...I would get him something nice for the big 3-0. try to get him something he doesn't have yet. something like....a prada wallet, or louis vuitton wallet. hmmm...if he travels a lot you could buy him a louis vuitton or some kind of designer carry on. but I think the nicest thing is to give him a chanel watch, or SOME kind of designer watch. I love getting watches, and it'll be really special for him to be getting such a nice gift from you!

Get him a nice HD Television. Can't go wrong with that. 30 is a pretty big b-day so the expense is well worth it.
