I reccomend getting a better know brand for an early skateboard. Better just get a high-end skateboard at the start before you branch out to smaller companies. I recommend Element (very light, good for ollies), Zero (also light, most have a wide place for your feet to rest comfortably), or a Flip (very similar to the Zero, but a little heavier and sturdier).
To stop, you can do one of three things:
1) Drag the tail. Its unsteady and it grinds up the board, but it'll stop you.
2) Jump off. Its pretty sure fire, so long as you jump forward so your board stops. Otherwise, you might lean back, the board will slip out, and you'll crack your head.
3) You can powerslide, but I don't reccomend it if you're new to skating.
4)My favorite; just drag your foot you use to push. Then you could just lose a little speed, or start to push again, or just stop yourself entirely.
Good luck.

I have never heard of California Advanced-Fly Boy A Good Skateboard Brand. However, some great brands that are well known and have good quality are Element, DC, Adio, birdhouse, world indusriess, DUB, and rage. These are just a few of the many great ones that are out there. As for the question on how to stop a skateboard, I simply just lean back until the back side of the board touches the ground. This should stop the board.

Hey
Powell Peralta Mini Logo is the best. The decks are affordable and offer a ton of value for the money. Accessorize as desired.
Jump off man! Just be careful, because if you are screaming down a hill you better be ready to run your a$$ off. Remember to push back on the board before you jump so that it does not shoot out and you can grab it after wards.
Have Fun

Is it a good brand - damned if I know. I guess it is if you can do what you want with it. How to stop - if I tried it I'd fall off or just run into something.

Or an old Alvarez....
you stop by:
1. stepping on the back of the board and dragging the tail
2. dragging a foot
3. sliding sideways
4. falling off on your face.
