It wasn't that long ago that women could not vote that public schools weren't a mandatory right and 14 yr olds were expected to get a job (and those were the middle class families) Imigrant had to work 5 yrs on a farm before applying to be citizens and public whipping wasn't outlawed all that long aso .
We take our right for granted now - maybe we no longer deserve them .
The Patriot act in the US is the slow slip into a facist hole
So given the fight and deaths of many of our forefather since we are now willing to give away so much at the stroke of a pen and not even fight my question is do we deserve the rights we have when we are so willing to give them up?

Do you even know what the provisions of the Patriot Act are? If you are so worried about fascism in America you'd better stop listening to the michael moores and cindy sheehans....God help us if these people get their way.

The problem we have know is inequality. The moneyed folks don't need rights because money buys rights in this country right now. And ultimately, the rich can just move to some other country and take their wealth with them.
So, what is a usual middle class player to do? He and she does not have enough resources to just move to another country, and Canada no longer wants us. England no longer likes us. Mexico does not want Middle Class people coming down there and causing prices to rise in Mexico, so it seems to me the only thing to do is stay home and accept the harsh changes to come. We will have some rights, like property rights, if you own property. And maybe everything would just slow down as money and money making schemes will leave for higher ground. Its sounds kind of like Italy or some other place of famous power in the past. Italy would not be a bad place to live, if we could learn how to live in a place like Italy.

Conservative sheep are nothing but cowards & need to think that bush is protecting them. That's why guns are so popular among the Neo-Cowards. They are too scared to leave the house without a .45. That's also why bush got any votes in the last election. The only people stupid enough to vote for him were the people that bush had scared sh!tless.
So, no. The bush supporting cowards deserve NO rights.

The Patriot Act highly concerns me! It seems that people have little concept of the domino effects that changing and creating laws can create. One loss leads to another. Sometimes one sentence in a bill or law can cover MULTIPLE losses of rights to us as citizens. To me, identifying myself as a liberal means that I am concerned for the rights of ALL, not just my own. We all have a lot to gain or lose in this political climate, and a society that still permits the brutalities of war!

YES, we deserve our rights. Illegal aliens do not deserve our rights while here illegally.
Muslims who refuse to speak against Islamo-facism do not deserve our rights, whether they be a USA citizen or not.
They are for the USA and freedom, or they are for Islamo-facism.
There is NO middle ground.
Their actions speak louder than the words they DO NOT speak.
Speak for yourself about no longer deserving your rights.... I fought for mine.... and will again if need be.
Legal immigrants should have to be here 5 years before being allowed to become a US citizen, committing NO crimes, learning English, studying our culture and learning something about our Constitution and Bill of Rights, learning that freedom is worth fighting for, and, they should pledge their allegiance to the USA only and NOT to any other country.

You have the right to continue ranting and raving and engaging in far-fetched exaggerations and Bush and the Republican Congress will not do anything to prevent you from making an idiot out of yourself.
