A lot of reasons. First of all, they seem to think it's cool. They'll tell you that isn't true, but for majority of them, it is. Kids today also learn things too early. They see it everywhere. For some kids, it's because parents aren't involved in them enough. They give them TOO MUCH freedom, or simply don't care. You have to always remember, be their parent not their friend. Know where they are at all times, set restrictions, rules, and set punishments for certain offenses. It doesn't always stop them, but it helps. Some parents try to hard to be the cool parents and let them do too much, and then some parents these days just don't care what their kids are doing as long as they aren't bothering them. Another problem is denial. Parents like to deny that their kids can do any wrong. so they deny it and avoiding, wake up. I think parents play a big role in this. Like i said, u can't always prevent it.....but you can try...and it does help.

I agree. I knew all about sex when I young but it wasnt on my mind as much as it is on these teenager's mind. The problem is that sex has a hype surrounding it. It's like the new drug to give a high. Everyone, the media, the radio even here on yahoo answers proclaim that sex is so great. Naturally, teens want to try out this great thing. I remember when I was 19 my greatest fear was that I would die a virgin and not know what the sex thing was all about. I gues in today's world you get that fear as soon as you hit double digits.

Forbidden fruit always seems to be the most tantalizing. Advertisers use sex everywhere to sell, and kids can't help but believe that it must be great if it is everywhere, and that they are not allowed to do it! Adults often learn too late that the allure of sex is fraught with responsibilities, and not worth the risk.

I remember I wasnt even interesting in kissing until I was 14, I was still climbing trees. I think it has to do with family dynamics. More parents claim that they both have to work today ( BULLSHIT ) so they can keep up with the jonses and no ones home to tend to the young

Because parents let their young kids watch TV programs that are meant for older teens, or they have no control over what their kids are watching on TV. They see so much sex and violence on TV that they think it is all normal.
