Why do they lack tolerance for other viewpoints and preferences?
Why do they ignore the 800+ women who died in the U.S. last year, even after using tampons correctly?

What kind of people are you talking about? LOL.
I've never met anyone who who was angry and militant because they used tampons or thought pads were bad.
I personally use tampons, but it's because I find pads very uncomfortable to wear.
As for women dying while using them, **** happens. The way I look at it, I'm gonna die someday anyway. So why can't I be comfortable and cleaner while I'm on my period.

For the same reason. People want to be right. They think their way is the right way. They want others to see their point of view.
I have to ask, where did you get that statistic about 800+ women dieing from correct tampon use?
Every time I hear or see someone talking about tampons killing, I wonder "Where are the facts?" The numbers are unclear in reports, ranging from 1 to 17 in every 100,000 that will contract TSS. And out of them, 5-10% of cases are fatal. That's a huge margin of error for definite numbers. Where did 800+ come from?
And the women who did contract the disease, most of them aren't using tampons correctly. TSS comes mainly from leaving the tampons in too long. Women who use a higher absorbency than they need are putting themselves at risk, even though they may not know it. Leaving a tampon in for more than 4-6 hours is dangerous. But then so is leaving a diaphragm in or female condom for that long. TSS cases have also come from improper usage of these products.
Pads aren't completely risk free either. Maybe you should look that up when you are complaining about tampons next time.

What????? I have never in my life ever heard of "militant" tampon users. I also never knew that we were all supposed to have "tolerance for other's viewpoints and preferences" regarding feminine supply usage. I did not know I was supposed to be "open-minded about pad-using women". WTFk??? Shug, did you ever stop to consider that maybe other women's gynocological concerns just don't weigh that heaviliy on everyone else's minds? I just don't want to know what goes on when everyone else around me is on their f*cking period!!! Let alone get "militant" about it! Jeez!!! Who peed in your eye-socket this morning??

personally I like to use tampons but you can still get tss even if you don't use them I don't know why they are so militant. I don't sing the praises of them to strangers but I will put my 2 cents in if asked.

No woman I know gives a rat's a.rse about what the other uses - your period is a ****** no matter what your preference - at least this is one thing that women do all agree on.

i use pads.....but for some reason, my period decided not to come this month. F U C K everyone.

oh, and for your answer: pads are so much more advanced now... and safer
