Why are tampon users to angry and militant and fierce about tampons being good?

Question

Why do they lack tolerance for other viewpoints and preferences?
Why do they ignore the 800+ women who died in the U.S. last year, even after using tampons correctly?
Why are they so close minded about pads and pad using women?

This is news to me. I've always used tampons and never heard of that many people who died. Guess I better do some research.

I will not say that all those that use them are closed minded. I used them and every time I did, I had that thought in mind, toxic shock syndrome, cancer, etc. It is just that depending on the job I was doing, I had to use them, and the beach, etc. I will admit that at night, when I had a slow down at the cycle, I would use the pads. I would be very careful about using Tampons when I was barely flowing. I think allot of girls and women feel, as I did, pads are disgusting. Tampons are very convenient and had their purposes. Some girls were raised to use nothing but them or weren't taught at all. Yes, I kept all the dangers in mind. I never took it for granted that I would be OK using them. It was a choice, just like Pads.

Hmm, I don't know any angry tampon users??
There is obviously not enough information around regarding TSS, and people make up their own minds anyway.
We could have the same argument here about drink drivers, smokers or even people that use deodorants with aluminium in them........

i don;t know of any angry, militant, intolerant, tampon wearing women except maybe... ani difranco, she does have a song where she says: "i'm gonna pull out my tampon and start smashing rome."
