Rowling killed the character Dumbledore in book 6: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

However, if you mean in the films:

Richard Harris originally played Dumbledore in The Philosopher's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets. He died of Hodgkin's disease on 25 October 2002.
Michael Gambon has had the role since.

Yes.
We don't know if he knew Snape would kill him (there's a theory that they had a prior understanding, that Dumbledore was dying anyway etc) or not (Snape is on Voldemort's side, maybe has always been). But we do know that he is dead. JKR said so recently.

You can read this for recent info on the issue: http://www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com/newconclusions.html and there is an lj community with lots of articles on various topics, including his death and/or Snape: http://community.livejournal.com/hp_essays/

Yeah, sorry. Snape teamed up with Draco and was going to force him (Draco) to kill Dumbledore, but when Draco wouldn't do it Snape did the job for him. It really sucks.

IMO, I think that Ms. Rawling will think of some clever way to bring him back somehow in Book 7. After all, it IS a fantasy novel...anything is possible.

Yes, he was killed near the end of book six. It was actually anticlimatic as it was after a big fight scene and he was already dying.

Why haven't you read the book yourself??
