Sometimes i get it right by guess work and at other times i botch up the grids . Is there a simple solution/ rule applicable to it ?

first start doing the sudokus with 1 or 2 ratings and then u will be able to solve 5 star rating sudokus easily
that's what i did
it's a piece of cake for me now

Trial and error. Very simple. As the first one to answer your question told. Or use sudoku solver. Just type the numbers which are there in the puzzle and it will show you the answer. You can just copy it!!

There is only 1 way of solving SUDOKU. It is:
1. Have a good pencil and eraser. Start appyling trial and error method with patience.

haha! to every square there can only be so many answers, suduko isnt about trial and error, its about practicality, in small pencil write just at the top of evey square all the possible answers, theres is always a way to work it out

Use a pencil and good eraser that does not smudge. Then apply trial and error.
