However, there is one area where in polite circles it is still acceptable to really reach deep down into one's emotions and truly hate someone - spitting mad, eye-bulging, blood-pumping hate - and it is politics. Hate is presently practiced much more by the left than the right but neither has clean hands in this kerfuffle. Interestingly enough, many on the left also include Catholics and evangelical Christians as acceptable targets of hate but that is another story. Listen to the national Democrats and the blogosphere, the amount of vicious hate spewed is rather amazing. Try substituting the words right-wing (or left-wing), Republican, George Bush, etc, with black or woman or gay and see how the venom sounds now. Would you say that in polite company? I doubt it.

Excellent question! I've often wondered the same thing myself.
Are you SURE you mean the "liberal" part of your alias? LOL. Just messing with you. I hope everyone sees this question. Many people here need to.

if all you wanted to do was galvanize a collection of lib-hating republicans, you should have just asked who, like you, believes that democrats and liberals are bad people, rather than answer your own question. too many people on the yahoo! answers section ask loaded and very biased questions, only to use the extra space provided to answer their question themselves. if you truly wish to know what EVERYONE thinks, it's actually best to leave the extra space blank and wait for others' answers. that's the strange thing: just like oral arguments, people on this board ask a question and, instead of not listening (as they would in an oral argument), they just answer their own questions --- basically negating any answers their question will receive. this rhetoric is the reason this country's citizens are communicating less and less on a serious level. but, to answer your question, the reason there is no valid correlation between disliking someone because of race as opposed to politics is because race and gender (i'll leave the oft-debated orientation out of this) cannot change with the influx of information. other than elective surgery, no external force can change someone's physical makeup; however, ignorance (which -- dependent upon how much/little one has -- is often a factor in one's choice in political ideologies). people who refuse to see the errs of bill clinton, aside from the lewinsky affair, will always see a great president. people who refuse to see the egregious, non-conservative spending by the current administration will always see a perfect party. once people on either side of the political gap accept the information in front of them, they will never change. now, to hate either group is ridiculous, because their political beliefs likely are based upon and reinforced by what they listen to on the radio/tv or hear from their family/friends. while it's just as ridiculous to hate someone because of genetic makeup, that particular reason has a much more tangible and unalterable significance because no amount of 'new' or accepted information will change my race/gender. so, next time, maybe you should not try and 'disguise' your question as being objective. if really you just want to point out to people how you feel liberals/democrats may be hypocritical in their criticism of conservatives/republicans, just put it in your original question. clearly, there are many people who will agree with you.

Liberals are very hypocritical with the way they use the word "hate." There IS hatred on both sides of the street, but they continually try to pretend that their side of the street is clean.

(Please, copy this and send it to everyone you know)
Dear Uncle Sam,
I am writing you today to thank you
for all the good deeds
you do for us Americans, such as
taking our hard earned
dollar, even though taxation is
illegal, and sending our
youth to Middle Eastern countries
to die for your
Capitalist profit. Such a noble
deed, deserves gratitude
indeed.
I would also like to thank
you for spreading good-
will around the world, the
rape of the Iraqi's at Abu
Gharib was well appreciated I am sure,
and even teaches
those savages the principles of
democracy. They may even
spread our example someday, oh
what a glorious day that
will be.
I would also like to thank you
Uncle Sam for the Patriot
Act, it amazes me that you can
protect my freedom in such
a fashion. I absolutely agree,
silence the opposition, but
let us as a country not admit
the nasty little secret of
our good ole Gitmo. It must be a
place of bountiful
bondage fun, us Americans will
joyously visit it with
great jubilee.
Thank you Uncle Sam.
I thank you for out-right borrowing
with out the intent to
return, $83 Billion dollars from
the tax payers, they
should have no problem that only
$2 Billion of the alotted
$85 Billion was actually used to
clean up the disaster in
which we created over in Iraq.
And most of all Uncle Sam,
I believe that you are a great
man, the gas pumps just echo your name.
We pay over $3.00
a gallon, while Iraqi's pay about
$0.05, thank you. As I'm
sure Exxon also loves you,
reporting thier highest sales
and profit margin in over a decade.
I have to be going now though Uncle Sam,
I'm out of words.
I've sent this to a hundreds of people,
you've been fore-
warned.
Sincerley yours,
An American Patriot.
