Yes. I used to have a cageful of parakeets. Sometimes I'd hear them all hollering, and look to see what was wrong. They would be protesting because a young male was rubbing himself on the perch.
Then I got a conure parrot. For a while there, he would masturbate on top of his fake fur sleep hutch. It was freaky, because of all the moans and groans of passion he made. The good news is I think I can skip having a vet to do blood test on him to verify he is a 'he'.

It's disgusting...but yes I think they do. I'm pretty sure my dog does it, I've had to get rid of all my stuffed animals I had sittig around anywhere because my dog would ummm well do the dirty to them. He seemed to be enjoying himself so yeah...I'm sure animals do masturbate and I've heard of Monkeys doing that.

never heard of birds doing it...but yes primates do. Most birds don't even have a penis...just a cloaca which does not even get any stimualtion while mating...so can't imagine what they would masturbate with.

I guess you've already got your answer but my daughter found this out first hand with our male cockateil who nearly everytime she got him out of his cage he would rub on her hand until liquid would come out. I know it sounds gross but the bird would peck and bite her if she tried to put him away before he did his thing. Hey what can I say it's instinct and Mother nature.

I've seen both a parrot and cat, absolutely and unequivocably, masturbate before.

I don't know about all animals, but I do know that monkeys, chimps and apes do.
