A Navajo should be referred to as "Native American" or "Native Indian". Native Americans were wrongfully referred to as "Indians" because the early discoverers of the Americas, like Christopher Columbus, thought that they actually arrived in the East Indies. That's where they planned to go to trade. People from Bangalore, India, should be referred to as "Indians" since they are from India.

A Navaho is not an Indian. A Navaho is one of 500 Native American nations. Your question is therefore moot.

Highly confusing comparison, but being from Bangalore, I think can help out a bit.

People of Bangalore are generally referred to as Bangaloreans. If you mean the original natives of the city, they are the people of the South Indian state of Karnataka, who speak the language Kannada. Collectively, speakers of this language are called Kannadigas.
