He really looks up to me and my fiance and we want him to be able to be in the wedding. We just don't know what to have him do. He has been a ring bearer before, so we kinda wanted him to have something else to do this time. He is capable of doing anything we would ask of him.

Have you ever heard of a Junior Groomsman (like a Junior Bridesmaid)? Would it be strange to have him on my fiance's side during the ceremony?

What are some other things besides those two that I mentioned that he could do in the wedding?

Something creative would be nice!
Thanks! :)

There isn't anything strange about someone in the bride's family being in the groom's attendants - so a junior groomsman would be cute.

But you could also put him in charge of the guest book - standing there in his little tux making sure as many people as possible sign it, and that no small children scribble in it (that happened at mine, lol), you could make it a BIG responsibility, and he might like that.

I had a junior groomsman in my wedding, and his sister was a junior bridesmaid. It looked nice. It was my niece and nephew. If you want to have him do something, perhaps he could be like an acolyte and go up and light all the candles at the front of the church before the service (if you are having a candlelight service). Or if you are having a white "runner," he could pull the runner down the aisle just before you make your entrance.

He should be a junior groomsman. Also, have him walk your mother down the aisle to her seat. He should stand with the groom during the ceremony. Have a wonderful wedding.

He could be a Junior Groomsman/Usher. Or you Could have him be in charge of the guestbook and greeting people :) I don't think either of those are too much to ask of a 9 year old :)

I don't think this has been done before, but I was thinking of him bringing a long stem rose to your mother and your husband's mother, have him walk down the aisle right before the flower girl. Then let him stand on the husband's side...be with the men.

If your dress has a train, he could hold up the end, or whoever is giving you away, he could be on the other side. maybe you could switch some roles, like have a girl ringbearer and he could be the petal boy. if he has musical talent (like piano) he could learn the wedding song and play you down the isle.
