Because they are dumb...they think things will improve in Cuba after Fidel dies.....NEWSFLASH....Cuba will only get worse....the majority of Cubans are poor now, but they will be even poorer after Fidel dies and the US corporations will move in. Right now, Cuba has one of the best health care systems of any third world country, and the best education system...all FREE! If the US corporations move in, all that will disappear, and the majority of Cubans will be even poorer, less educated, and will not have access to a free doctor. The post-Castro Cuba will be like the Dominican Republic, not like the USA - like the Cuban-Americans hope.

I sympathize with the US Cubans 100%, but I'm afraid their hopes are a case of wishful thinking.
Even when Fidel dies, the regime will continue and it will harshly beat down any opposition, like it has always done.
The only hope for the US Cubans is an U.S. invasion of the island, but this is very, very unlikely. Militarily, the U.S. is spread very thin and it has not been very successful lately. Another front or invasion, facing a well trained Cuban army, possibly reinforced by the Venezuelan military, is something the U.S. government will avoid at all cost.
