I think Jack needs to stop asking. I mean Mark and Jack have major loyalty for each other.......but Jack is going too far. Mark was looking forward to retiring, so was his family, but he agreed to stay another year for Jack. Now Jack is doing it again. I think, respectfully, he shouldn't have asked. He needs to find someone else. He seems to have the idea that he has to have someone in the 6 car that is as good as Mark....he has to get over that, find a driver and move on. Mark is ready to get out.....putting something like this on his head isn't right. I hope he says no this time.

Mark has stated his intentions two years ago or more. In my opinion, Jack is using and abusing Mark Martin at this point. If Kluever isn't ready for Cup, that's shouldn't turn into Mark's problem. Mark didn't even have to come back for the 2006 season, but he did.
I say let Mark Martin move on over to the Truck Series where his heart obviously is headed. I think we will see a new driver in that he will be out there for the fun of it without the pressures of Cup.

The only reason Roush has asked Mark to stay is becaue Kluever is not ready to race with the big dogs. In the last few Busch races Kluever has finished 25th, not a good place for a Rousch driver to be. I would like to see Mark give it one more shot for a Championship, before moving to the Truck Series. But if Mark stays and runs in the Chase, it will be for the love of the race, and not for the money. I really don't think he is going to stay, since he has already announced that he will be running the Truck Series full time. And he is trying to put more of his focus on his son's racing.

That is just the way Jack does business, and that is what it is "business". Your a fool if you think Jack would make a decision that not business driven. I personally hope this is Mark's last year. Mainly because I am tired of listening to the whiny old man. Anyone who says they should take the banks out of Talladega is too old to be out there.

i like it, mark martin is stil lone of the most consistant drivers in the business. he has to be a favorite to win almost every week. so go ahead mark, 1 more year. after all, if he does as he planned, run truck series and 12 cup races, he would run 1 more race than a full cup season, so why not earn a whole lot more money and make another run at a title

His heart doesn't really seem to be into it this year. He wants to go, and other drivers want rides. I think the Cat in the Hat oughta let Mark go in peace, and retire while he's still got a good reputation.

Don"t think alot about it, actually haven't heard anything about it.
Mark Martin's been around forever and seems to do pretty well, but he doesn't impress me much...
Maybe he's hopeing Mark will win the Championship. We'll see. Right?
