My research suggests that the Rav4 is the slightly better car.

You should be quite happy with either car though.

If you buy it new, look into the extended warranties, too. Toyota has their own extended warranty which has very few exclusions and all of their exclusions are listed. This means that if you need a repair during the extended warranty and your repair does not show up in the list of exclusions they it will be covered. I know because I bought a new Toyota Corolla last May. I am not familiar with Honda's extended warranty but it is wort checking into.

Good luck and all the best to you!

CRV without a doubt. I have one and wouldn't trade it. It is well built, gets incredible gas mileage (I just went from central CA to South Dakota and got 31 mpg going 75), and is fun to drive. The Rav 4 is okay but I would still choose a CRV.

I like the RAV 4. If I remember right it's been around for a bit longer. But since both are good manufacturers I wouldn't really worry too much about that. But IMO I like the RAV 4.

I like the CRV...both of them are built on car frames and really aren't meant for offroading. Given that, in my opinion the crv just has a more comfortable ride on the road. The RAV4 does offer a little more power than the CRV though but in th end it all depends on what you're looking for, comfort or power.

Just a FYI...a friend has a RAV4. She got rear-ended at about 10 mph and it did about $2k in damage.

the new CR-V should be out soon just wait a bit longer. if u must buy now then the Honda gives u more room and is cheaper but the Toyota is a bit more reliable and looks kinda cool
