NEO -CON basically means NEW CONSERVATIVE type.

It is used to refer to ultra-right wing party members in America's government. It can be applied however to any political situation which a has members constituting a new-conservatism idealogy shift.

Neo Conservatism showed its face during America's cold war with Russia. Normally Neo-conservatism takes the place of a right wing warhawk who actively supports wars in order to advance American policies and political influence.

In modern neoconservatism, neo cons also express christian idealogies which push for a secular America - a theocratic America where Judeo Christian philosophies are dominant.
Many opponents to neoconservatism, mostly liberals, equate neoconservatism with neonazism, fascism and other forms of subtle racism and race advancement.

That is why the line that seperates church and state has been blurring since the 70's. That is why topics such as Abortion, Evolution, racism, gay rights and stem cell research draw such strong opposition from "certain" parts of America.
This is also why there is so much fear of "liberals" and "democrats" in American politics.

"Historically, neoconservatives supported a militant anticommunism, tolerated more social welfare spending than was sometimes acceptable to libertarians and mainstream conservatives, supported civil equality for blacks and other minorities, and sympathized with a non-traditional foreign policy agenda that was less deferential to traditional conceptions of diplomacy and international law and less inclined to compromise principles even if that meant unilateral action. Indeed, domestic policy does not define neoconservatism — it is a movement founded on, and perpetuated by an aggressive approach to foreign policy, free trade, opposition to communism during the Cold War, support for Israel and Taiwan and opposition to Middle Eastern and other states that are perceived to support terrorism."
Simply put, the Neo-Cons answer to every country is to COERCE them into submission, STARVE them into sumbmission or simply BOMB them into submission.

And BOMBING them into submission is NOT CHEAP.

The Afghanistan War and Iraq War's were considered by many philosophers to be a test of the validity of Neoconservatist values.
If the Iraq War ends up being successful in establishing a robust and self-sustaining democracy in Iraq, then the influence of neoconservative thinking on the Republican party will likely solidify or possibly even increase. But if the war in Iraq is drawn-out, requiring an excessive expenditure of American lives and money, and establishes a weak or ineffective Iraqi government unable to control terrorism and crime, then the influence of neoconservatives within the Republican party will likely be greatly diminished in the future.

At this point in time, intelligent, educated Americans understand that the current Iraq occupation by America is an escalating failure. As you can see, since we have made no true progress there with the exception of loss of American lives and a renewed, fear-fueled anti-American, anti-Israeli movement in the Middle East and North Korea it is becoming increasingly clear that the WAR ON TERROR has created more possibilities of terrorism and threats of nuclear war.

The short of it. Neocons are drones, automatons. they are like bees in a hive. They do not think with reason but act in blind passion. If it were 1941 they would be the Nazi party of old Germany(except they would be God leaning). When their Caesar say jump. They do not ask why, or how high. But can I do it more and make you a sandwich between the jumps. They will do anything, say anything to anyone so long as they can further the aim of the party. It is party 1st, people second. Live imitating art, imitating life, neocons would be like the comatose drones in the Matrix. And the so-called liberals would be Neo and Morpheus and those thinking free.

No, "neo-Con" is a fictitious term, made up by the liberals. To lump us in with the Neo-Nazis. All the conspiracy theories were created by liberals, to make the American people and government look bad, (just like the Islamic terrorists do).

the key neo-cons are the people who worked on PNAC (project for the new american century). key figures are dick cheney, donald rumsfeld, paul wolfowitz, and a bevy of other bush administration officials.

no, they are not the ones with the crazy theories. the crazy theories suggest that they (the neo-cons) are the ones who staged 9/11 or let it happen for political leverage.

Neoconservatism is a political current and ideology, mainly in the United States, which emerged in the 1960s, coalesced in the 1970s, and has had a significant presence in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. It is today most closely identified with a set of foreign policy positions and goals: a hawkish stance during the Cold War and, more recently, in various conflicts in the Middle East. At times there have been distinct neoconservative positions in domestic policies; in particular, the first generation of neoconservatives were generally less opposed to "big government" and to social spending than other U.S. conservatives of the time, though they also called for significant restructuring of the goals and methods of many social programs.

The prefix neo- refers to two ways in which neoconservatism was new: many of the movement's founders, originally liberals, Democrats or from socialist backgrounds, were new to conservatism; neoconservatism was also a comparatively recent strain of conservative thought, which derived from a variety of intellectual roots in the decades following World War II. While some (such as Irving Kristol) have described themselves as "neoconservatives", the term is used today more by opponents and critics of this political current than by its adherents, some of whom reject even the claim that neoconservatism is an identifiable current of American political thought.

Within American conservatism, the foreign policy of neoconservatism is particularly contrasted to isolationism, especially as found in paleoconservatism. While the neoconservatives share some of the Christian right critique of a purely secular society, this is not as central to their politics as it is for the Christian right, nor are the neoconservative prescriptions always the same as those of the Christian right.

Neoconservatism is associated with periodicals such as Commentary and The Weekly Standard and some of the foreign policy initiatives of think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and the Project for the New American Century (PNAC). Neoconservative journalists, pundits, policy analysts, and politicians, often dubbed "neocons" by supporters and critics alike, have been credited with (or blamed for) their influence on U.S. foreign policy, especially under the administrations of Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) and George W. Bush (2001-present).

I know, you buy anything, even WMD's! But you won't even look at some of the evidence that makes some of 9/11 impossible to happen the way they said! Do you think the government is telling you the truth, or do they have a billion top secret documents they don't want you to see>

You believe the Warren Commission as well I guess when you can clear as day see a frontal head shot hit Kennedy!

Neocons is a polite way to say Fascists!
