This is a religious question, and perhaps a men's health question, but I don't see it as a GLBT question. But here goes anyway.

Circumcision was part of the purity codes followed by the Jews in Biblical Times because of cleanliness and health reasons. The foreskin is capable of trapping dead skin, urine, semen and other matter which in time can cause infections. This was in a day when people didn't bathe frequently. Today, we all bathe daily, and cleanliness is a much bigger issue with us. Gentiles throughout the world have survived without circumcision, but in America it became habit as babies were born in hospitals. It has no modern day religious necessity, unless you belong to a tradition which follows the practice for purity religious reasons...such as the Jewish faith. It also rarely has any health implication today.

The debate nowadays is more medical than anything. A circumcised penis is easier to keep clean, but is less sensitive than an uncircumcised penis.

becasue who is to say what one person says is what everyone forever has to do it

if he jumped off a cliff on his 20th b-day does that mean that EVERYONE HAS TO DO THAT and besides he was how old when he got that done and he had what say in that issue
