You can weight the situation of the pilot industry and say it's easy to choose. But assuming it picks up, I'm trying to decide between being a pilot (less risk) living a little bit more in life, not worrying about the big paycheck....as opposed to business which to me means more stress and not as much of a life. any suggestions on which path? i'm leaning more towards being a pilot for the commericals.

Thanks yall.

But yeah i've definatly researched both options for a long time, it's just a tough decision when you're passionate about both. But basically I just think in life you gotta sometimes forget the materialistic aspect/money, and do something that allows you to leave the stress in the office/aka cockpit, just a little indecisive cuz i did have business dreams. we'll see. thanks anyhow

I suggest you finish school. Education first, just so that you have something to fall back on. Then after your degree, experiment with your life, that way you have NO regrets.

Been there done that.(GA not commercial)

Pilot school first. It is an education.

The lessons of flying, and the structure and discipline it forces on your existence will make any other undertaking easier. The responsibility of flying really teaches you to focus, and develop and implement strategic planning.

I would have gotten so much more out of B-School if I had had pilot training first.

You can take B-School during or after Pilot training.

Ever heard of Embry Riddle? You can do both at a prestigious school.

Don't worry too much about the job situation at the commercials.
The VLJ industry and the incipient air taxi business is going to have a great deal of business, and will need many pilots.

Commercials are tough to get into. Air Taxi is the wave of the future.

Addendum: How many hours do you have as PIC? Its a long hard path if you are just starting out. If you are just starting out, finish B-School at Embry Riddle while building hours.

I believe you should finish business school. Of course, you have to keep in mind that this is definitely not the best place to be asking such an important decision in your life : ) I have a feeling the advice from "yahoo answers" isn't going to be the deciding factor, hehe. It's just my belief that education should always be finished. It almost always leads to a better position, with more opportunities...

I think that you should finish up business school and then later you could be a pilot. Good luck

Go with pilot, you can always go back to B-school if it doesn't work out but flying is something you need to learn young.
