I had one at 7 months, some have had them at 6 months, however the sooner you have them, the greater physical problems will occur, my daughter was 4 pounds at birth, so there is low birthweight issue, which keeps the child in the hospital until closer to the actual due date, also the lungs are the last thing to develop, so many babies are on machines or injected with caffeine for lung development.

I am 8 months (34 weeks) as well, and I am a first time mother to be so I have did a lot of reading. Yes we can have a baby at 8 months the baby is fully developed and has a high chance of living if born. So don't worry and be lucky if it happens cause I am waiting for that day to come any time now! congrats and good luck

Rachel is VERY mistaken. A baby can survive with medical intervention at 24 weeks, and there have been babies that have survived as early as 23 weeks. My son was born at 29 weeks (7 months 1 week) and although he was in the hospital for 10 weeks (In a Children's Hospital) he just turned 2 on Thurs and had no delays at all.

My son came at 35 weeks and he weighed 6 lbs 14 oz. The only concerns my doctors really had were if he would need some oxygen for a few hours after delivery. Luckily he was very healthy. The only problems we had were his digestive tract was a little immature b/c he was early, but he worked all the kinks out. Today he is just as healthy as babies born full-term.

Yes you can. It's not the best for the baby considering you are supposed to be pregnant from 38-40 weeks. But you can and there aren't any dangerous effects for the baby. The longer that baby stays inside you the better. They need all the nutrients from you for as long as they can get them. But all major organs are formed and functional at this point. But why stress them earlier thatn you have to???

Yes you can have a baby at 8 months. And these days they stand a very good chance of survival. If you think you are in preterm labor be sure to call your ob do not delay. At eight months sometime lungs are not developed and baby may need special attention.

The earliest that a baby can survive outside of the womb is 28wks. It is not uncommon for a woman to give birth at eight months. The due date that the OB gives you is an estimate based on the first day of your last period and your estimated conception date, so it can be off by two weeks either way.

not true about what previous poster said, I Beleive the earliest surviving baby was a 22 weeker... I know plenty of moms who have babies born around 24 weeks, at that age they have a 50/50 survival rate but most have many disabilities later on. anyway to answer you question yes, of course you can, but its really not advisable and please do not do anything to cause it to happen.
