I doubt it, I think they were pretty much introduced at the same time. If anything, I'd say the opposite, that mini skirts made pantyhose popular. A short skirt showing those long nylon clad legs - who wouldn't want that look? Hosiery adds a dimension to legs that nothing else can.

Honestly though, pictures from the 60's rarely show nylons with mini skirts. Mostly knee high socks......i know, sounds like a man's perfect fantasy but it's true!
p.s. garters were worn by the generation which gave birth to the children of the 60's. Baby boomers didn't wear garters unless they were just getting sexy for a special night ;)

No , Before panthose women wore garters and stockings, not because they were sexy but because that was all there was. so it would be that mini skirts helped make panty hose popular, because with a mini your garters would show and the top of your stockings.

no,not at all. in the late 60's and early 70's when mini skirts came out, girls didn't wear any undies and the skirts were so short that their butt cheeks showed out the bottom. seriously. it was a wonder time to be a teenager.

the idea of the mini was not to wear pantyhose. It was made to show off one's leg.

no... mary quant invented it- in London and panty hose had no influence, it was the change of times (if anything, later the Courreges boots were added to the skirt)
