thought jay z was moving the nets to brooklyn? when is that supposed to happen?
if you were GM of an NBA team, name five NBA players you would try to get to sign with your team as a starting five, then say how much you would pay each player (this one requires some thought)
if you were isiaah thomas, who would you rather have on your team? stephon marbury (with whom he is having multiple problems) or steve francis (who he is also beginning to have problems with, because of lack of playing time) which one would you trade and who would you try to trade for?
thats it, begin answering.

ok im going to answer my own questions lol... even tho it says i cant.
my starting five (reasonable) would be:
Iverson running the point. 33 pts per game and 7.5 assists per game are outstanding in my opinion. Every year they say he will get worse, but it is yet to happen. Backup point would be either Delonte West or Chris Paul (prolly not possible)
SG would be Andre Iguodala, if he developed his shooting (which he has been working on) then he would be a great all around player, with speed, defense, and athleticism.
SF would be Ron Artest, he really proved himself on both offense and defense in Sac-town, which impressed me extremely since everyone only thought he would be a defensive player only.
PF would be Dwight Howard, excellent on defense and has his moments on offense.
C would be Dalembert if he didnt ask for too much money, if i couldnt get him i would def go with a younger center.. maybe Diop, he did really good with Dallas.

Jay-Z isn't a majority owner, so he isn't moving the Nets anywhere. Bruce Ratner is hoping to have them moved within the next few years.
I'm going to try to be realistic. One exception, I will assume that everyone in the league is available to be signed. I would go for two stars and three good complimentary players. I don't know how the team salaries really work, so I'm going to stay away from that part of the question.
PG - Chris Paul
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Shane Battier
PF - Carlos Boozer
C - Tim Duncan
If I were Thomas, I would rather have Marbury. Francis has proven that he can't change his style to get the most out of post players. He's had Yao and Howard and he's squandered both chances. Marbury has his issues, but he is a better passer. You don't average as many assists as he has by accident. I think Frye, Curry, and Lee will be better served with Marbury at the point. I would trade Francis for solid bench players.

1. the jay z thing is just a rumor...the nets have a large enough fan base where they dont need to move.
2. If i could have any 5 players for a starting 5 it would be:
PG: Chris Paul (had an amazing rookie season and is a great play maker)
SG: Kobe Bryant (a great go-to guy whos attitude has imporved greatly with his desire to win)
SF: Andrei Kirilenko (when healthy he is one of the best defensive players in the game and is a consistent 15 ppg which is important for any team)
PF: Dirk Nowitzki (a great shooter which every team needs and the questions of his leadership wont matter since theres plenty of other leaders in this line up...thinking about Duncan or Garnett but this line up needs a consistent shooter and he's also younger)
C: Dwight Howard (woulda picked Shaq but wouldn't work with Kobe and he's getting too old, so Dwight will most likely be the next best big in the future)
The salaries are hard to come up with becasue I don't know if your taking the cap into consideration...if so this team wouldn't be possible.
Honestly I would want to get rid of both of them and try to get a good decision/play maker which is what the Knicks are desperatly lacking, but if I had to keep one I would keep Francis and start him at SG and hope to get a good decision maker at PG.

Thought that was just a rumor and I don't see it happening.
If I was GM this is my starting five. Staying away from the salary part but still making it realistic.
PG: Chris Paul - Kid can flat out run a team. Next great PG.
SG: Kobe Bryant - Whether you love him or you hate him, you cannot doubt his abilities on the court.
SF: Shane Battier - Hard nosed defender who is still relatively young. Decent shot and hard worker.
PF: Dirk Nowitzki: Shooter, shooter, shooter. With Kobe, he doesn't need to take over a game.
C: Dwight Howard: Double-double guy every night who is steadily improving his offensive game.
I'd trade Francis. Marbury is a New York guy and I just think he needs the right players around him to succeed, most notably a low post threat. Marbury thrived with KG down low. I'd trade for a big man, maybe Jermaine O'Neal.

Worwor, let me solve your problem by my opinion.
1. Jayz is not powerful enough to move the nets to Brooklyn.
2. Really a tough question.
PG - Chris Paul (40 Mil for 4 years)
SG - Manu Ginobili (65 Mil for 6 years)
SF - Ben Gordon (50 Mil for 6 years)
PF - Shawn Marion (Maximum Capacity)
C - Yao Ming (1.2 Bil for 8 years)
3. This is the easiest question. Undoubtly trade out S. Marbury. His selfish style really ruin the teams. In contrast, while S. Francis in Orlando Magic, he really made contribution to the team. Based on all aspect, there is no reason to keep S.Marbury
However, I. Thomas won't trade out S. Marbury because of their close friendship

Elton Brand............$21M (Three years)
Richard Hamilton.. $21.5M (Three years)
Steve Nash ...........$48 M (Four years)
Shawn Marion .......$48M (Three years)
Tim Duncan...........$33-$38M (Two years)
Elton Brand and Richard Hamilton have excellent pedigree, play hard, and know what it takes to win. Furthermore, Elton Brand was two points away from an NCAA championship. He plays hard every day and well enough to carry an otherwise talentless team, such as the LA Clippers. Richard Hamilton has amazing stamina and is essentially a younger version of Reggie Miller, minus the B.S. in the performing arts. Nevertheless, both of these players - Hamilton and Brand - are young and have done a good job of living up to their potential.
Nash, Marion, and Duncan are all proven players. Nash is the type of player you must build around, hence the longer term contract. As last season stands testament, he can run and pass with the best of them, but the winning chemistry of a championship team takes time to develop. Point guards can be extremely talented in one setting, but will flop when playing in unfamiliar territory. Nash has shown he has the talent and mindest to play in either situation. Meanwhile, Shawn Marion is a freakish athlete and can put the ball in the bucket from practically anywhere on the court. Great duo - he and Nash together.
Lastly, I would take Duncan over O'Neal at the five spot. Longevity in a center is hard to come by: it all comes down to superior fundamentals. Duncan never gets emotional, plays at his own pace, and knows how to use the drop step, as well as use the backboard, to score points. He has a solid five years of championship-caliber play left in him. He may not be as explosive as Shaquille, but is far more dependable. Expect a guaranteed 15 points-10 rebound contribution every game.
The common element to all of these players, relative to their position and minutes played is high free throw percentage (discipline) and low turnovers (experience). The rest will fall into place.
BACKUPS:
Delonte West (strong as an ox and twice as fast)
Paul Pierce
Shaquille O'Neal
Dirk Nowitski

First Jay-Z is a minority owner which means he owns a small percentage of the team and he can't make decisions like that.
C Shaq $20 million per year
PG. Steve Nash $8 million per year
SG D. Wade $12 million per year
SF Tracy Mc Grady $10 million per year
PF Ben Wallace $8 million per year
Jerry Tarkanian would be the coach.
Allen Iverson if i am going to have problems with a guard t better be someone that can shoot the lights out. get rid of both of them

Okay, I'll give it a try.
1. Didn't hear anything about that. I didn't know Jay-Z owned them, and if he does its only partial so he probably doesn't make decisions like that.
2. Not sure what you mean by this, I'll give five players that could be afforded. Well, every great team needs a superstar and a good side kick. So I'll go ahead and give my starting five.
PG: T.J. Ford
SG: Larry Hughes
SF: Peja Stojakavic
PF: Jermaine O'Neal
C: Zydrunas Ilgauskas
3. I'd want Francis, marbury is a punk...

All excel on D and Kobe is a machine an O the rest arent bad on offense either and can rebound
3.Marbury is untradable with his contract and he has more talent so Frances would be my guy

i dont think Jay-z is really moving the nets to Brooklyn that was a rumor.
If I was Isaiah Id trade Stevie franchise. Just for the simple fact that Steph is from Coney island and the fans probably love him in NY. If it wasnt for that id get rid of marbury he hasnt really proved himself
