Well you can sleep on your tummy but eventually your not going to be able to do that for obvious reasons. I found that through my 1st pregnancy and this one that I could never sleep at night without my body pillow!! It is an absolute must!! I usually wedge it under the side of my belly and put it in between my legs and that helps alot. With my first pregnancy I was very anal about sleeping on my left side only, but w/ this pregnancy I have decided that whatever is gonna make me fall asleep is how I'm gonna sleep and it hasn't affected her growth or anything at all. So definatly dont stress about laying on your left side only sleep however you are going to get the most rest!! I would ask you doc about the no movement though it's kind of odd to not feel any movement by 5 months, you should at least feel little bubbly movements by now. Nothing crazy or mad punching and kicking because baby still has plenty of room to move but you might be mistaking baby movement as gas or something. Just ask you doc next time you see him/her.

Don't worry. The only reason most tummy sleepers stop is because it's gotten uncomfortable. If this is your first, you may not feel movement for another few weeks. Your baby is well protected from simple things like this, so sleep away. Just know that you may need to find a new position soon, as it will quickly become uncomfortable. I'd suggest getting a body pillow. The main reason I like sleeping on my stomach is the feeling of being molded to the bed somehow, or at least that feeling of light pressure against my belly. The pillow helped to simulate that, and also proped me a little so that I could sleep on my belly a little longer. It kinda became a gradual progression to sleeping on my side.

You still have time for movement but I would suggest getting used to not sleeping on tummy w/ all 4 of my pregnancies I layed on my side/front with a pillow under my belly, leg, and arm body pillow's work the best!

buy a body pillow and throw your leg over one side of it and your tummy on the pillow when you get a little bigger,so comfy. I don't believe you can hurt the baby by sleeping on your tummy but soon enough you won't be able to. movement will start soon the first time I realized the baby was moving I thought I was having gas bubbles until it was persistent enough to know that it was the baby. have fun and good luck!

You should be feeling movement soon. It's a good idea to start sleeping on your side (if only because sleeping on what feels like a basketball is uncomfortable) - I slept on my favorite side with a pillow between my knees, that was very comfortable.

Sleep on your left side with a large body pillow (up by your face and long enough to hold between your knees).

it is ok if you feel comfortable that way. however, you will start to feel movement soon. by then it will not be so comfy to be sleeping on your tummy. i suggest you start sleeping on your side. place your fav pillow between your knee. that should keep you comfy and nice.

good luck!

No, this is dangerous for stoping, or slowing the blood flow to the baby~ Left side is best~ Try to get heaps of pillows to make you more comfy~

Yes, it is ok, but once your baby starts to move they may kick you a lot while you are sleeping. Ask your OB/GYN about taking Tylenol PM to help you sleep. It is safe for some pregnant women to take it if they are having no complications.
