Top off the gas tank ( to prevent condestation) Set the parking brake (while the transmission is in neutral, let off the brake then shift to park) this will keep strain off the nylon pin that holds the car in park. Then remove the NEGATIVE cable. If you have a newer car you may want to skip this for the sake of the computer. It may cause it to loose settings in its memory.

for just 6 weeks it will be OK,,if your going to keep it in a garage,,next to your house you can take the battery cable of from it,,just to be safe,,but other than that there is nothing you really need to do for it,good luck,,and enjoy your vacation,,i hope this helps.

I would take one of the cables off the battery and leave it with a full tank if it were my car.

JUST UN-HOOK THE HOT SIDE OF YOUR BATTERY AND MAKE SURE IT IS RESTING IN A GOOD SPOT....AWAY FROM ANYTHING, AND I'D FILL IT UP WITH GAS, OR I DO......AND OPEN YOUR GAS FILL A LITTLE IF ITS SETTING OUT....
