It is Dr. Daniel Schrag, Professor of Geochemistry at Harvard University who talks about the facts regarding Global Warming. You can also go to the site to have direct knowledge in more details.

First there is no proof! We can look at the glaciers melting on the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro but is it cyclical? Politicians use this excuse as a means to polarize people and get elected but the real truth is that we don't really know. We do know that weather cycles tend to repeat themselves but the intervals are unknown. We determine old weather patterns by growth rings on trees...but that's rather skeptical, as that tree is from one location...and perhaps they had a cold summer, a drought, heavy rains etc but other areas didn't. Some years ago, National Geographic had an article about the increase incident of skin cancer because of the disappearing ozone layer in Australia, caused by the number of aerosols, etc and about a week ago Australian scientists suggested that the greenhouse effect was being caused by cows....stomach gases (flatulence)....it makes little sense because we used to have great herds of buffalo in America and we still have great herds of antelope and such in Africa...so global warming began hundreds or perhaps thousands of years ago? We do know that the weather patterns are changing and some of the tropical storms are increasing in intensity but again is it cyclical? We have been measuring temperature, wind velocity, etc for a relatively short-time..so we don't really have a historic record to compare with. We do know that an ice age occurred but believe it was due to other causes than pollution. An active volcano spews out a tremendous amount of ash which acts much like a blanket and blocks out the heat of the sun and that could explain a cooling process, however we are being told that the greenhouse gases only allow heat to enter and for no heat to escape...why? In Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, smog was a great problem for years and in LA it still is...was there a temperature variation in either place? We are told that the sea temperature off California is rising....then what about the temperature in Asia...or Australia. It would take many calories to heat such a vast body of water and given the currents of the ocean, the evaporation rate and condensation rates, I am skeptical of such a noticeable change in a few years. In the past few years, I have noticed a change in science from facts to theories and even in medicine, I see more and more announcements prefaced by 'MAY'....those are not facts. "I may have found the cure to Avian Flu"....it is not fact. Now when you look at politicians, we came to the differentiation between truth and fact. You can bend truth to hell and back, but a fact is immutable...it can't change. I don't believe Al Gore and his new global warming nonsense because he (if he reallys believes his own rhetoric) should have been aware of it years ago...not suddenly jumping on the band-wagon to excite voters. Nonetheless, we do need to clean up the environment as the pollution is already out of hand. Most of the world's rivers are polluted. We need to stop the idea of disposable products and recycle more. We need to reduce consumption of fossil fuels and develop alternative power sources.

I doubt the global warming hypothesis, because I live near a huge body of water (bay) whose level has not risen in the past century no matter what people say about ocen levels rising.

Also, thawing ice in the ocean will lead to a decrease of volume, not increase (simple physics - ever see how you can move rocks by making water freeze? That's because freezing water expands. If ice thaws, the volume would have to decrease - we are facing sinking ocean levels).

If it were true though: The day after tomorrow is a possibility, I suppose.

Me and Al both believe in global warming. We will all have to change our lifestyle in the near future.

The day after tomorrow, is feasible, just too rapid.

Yeah, like I'll just whip up proof, give me a second here.

Usually, you don't have to back up your "beliefs" with proof. Just when you are doing a factual paper. So, do your own homework.

I believe it's happening... I just don't care because chances are very rare that a catastrophe like in "The Day After Tomorrow" would happen. Not only that... I have two houses in Central America, where apparently nothing happened :)

our polution is depleting the ozone which protects us from the suns intensity. the sun's heating the earth more and more. there are places in the artic that show grass now! grass that hasn't been seen in a couple million years! and if you saw the day after tomarrow, you'd know about the glacier thing. summers lately have been reaching surprising highs and typical weather doesn't arrive like it's expected. it might not be as drastic as the movie, but without a way to rebuild the ozone, it's coming. tomarrow or six generations from now, it'll come.

Yes, I believe in global warming but I also think that if something like that would ever happen, it would not happen that quickly. We would have a lot more warning.

I don't believe in Al Gore's imaginary issue. The proof is there is no proof.
